What are these UFOs in the Clouds?Remarkable NASA image....

and the effect left by them in the clouds...

Those are eddies and waves formed in the atmosphere by wind moving around mountains. Exactly the same as water moving around stones in a river.

Also, if you know the geo-coordinates you might be able to figure out exactly what topographical features are causing this.

(Of course, if it turns out to be in a desert or lowland terrain, there are other questions to be answered).

Edit to add: Davis, the image analyst, is no slouch. The altitude of these 'wakes' defies the explanation of geography being involved. Perhaps meteorites or something? If they were UFO's they would have to be huge it seems, moving 4-6K MPH.

why do you pre-assume I or someone else, don't know what cloud vorices are and what can produce them?


yes it does resemble cloud vortices made by mountain tops, but i doubt this is the case...

just because vortices can easily be made by objects...such as jets for example

now in this image I do not see anything resembling mountain top, and AM SEEING sth. blueish down under





also assuming clouds are coming form left in the image, breaking of the mount tops....very much unusual waves, instead of vortices, by the one on the left...
also a circular object can be seen to the left...

could be mount tops but that preassumption is a bit too...rash

(google earth and zoom in on a grt lake freighter for example)
i see two different objects, first object shows compression of the media it is traveling in and spreading of the media and the turbulance created. the same as the second object
except the media is not quite as dense show it shows less compression.this is not typical of clouds over moutain in second post. close comparison thoun though(2 post in thread)

i would think mr. davis is working at nasa for good reasons!
clouds are a lighter density than water. now compare this imagewith mr. davis image.
lake freightor (1000 footer) traveling about 25 knots (with current traveling about 18 knots) in high density media. angle of divergence is quite small (front of freightor showing compression of media)

compression in mr. davis pic is visable and angle of divergence is quite large.
to me it a small object traveling a great speed in comparison

Why do you think Davis works at NASA?

I don't know at what altitude were those clouds, but this is what the page you posted says.

The image shows evidence of several unidentified objects of varying sizes, all flying in formation, at a very low altitude over the Indian Ocean. The area is too remote to be covered by radar.

Considering that the Indian Ocean has many islands, many of them with mountains, I think it is most probable that these were low clouds over mountains, at least more probable than several miles wide UFOs.

Edit to add: considering the other "news" on that site, I think this is a site to ignore, at least when they speak of "islands levitating by as much as 10 miles"...
