Not sure if I am posting in the correct spot, so please feel free to move if I am in the wrong place.

www.taser.com...

TASER’s field-proven Neuro Muscular Incapacitation (NMI) technology into the first anti-personnel area-target system capable of not only denying personnel, but also incapacitating personnel with reversible effects.

With the push of a button at a stand-off distance of up to 100 meter, the Shockwave unit deploys multiple standard TASER cartridges that are oriented across an area arc. Full area coverage is provided to instantaneously incapacitate multiple personnel within that region.

Hay, now police can Taser multiple people at once, how fun. (sarcasm)

Be sure to watch their "promotional" video at the bottom of the article.

This WILL lead to multiple deaths. They turned a horrible weapon into an area of effect weapon - bad idea.

What is it about cruelty and indiscriminate use of force that eludes them?

that is sickening indeed, I see this easily used on protesters in the near future since law and moral standards seems to be something only the wealthy can avoid....

Well, here is a bit more info about the new taser.

Multiple Shockwave units can be stacked together (like building blocks) either horizontally or vertically in order to extend area coverage or vertically to allow for multiple salvo engagements. Configurations can be tailored to yield a scaleable defense in depth with overlapping fields of fire when target opportunities may be layers deep or risk profiles dictate multiple event possibilities.

And to top it all off...........

To continue the theme of modularity, Shockwave units may also be vehicle mounted or daisy-chained. With up to 12 separate units per control box.

Geez! It sounds like they are designing it to stun hundreds at a time.

What are they afraid of?
