You are right. The web is a great tool connecting friends and foes alike.

The more open the ability to speak the greater the truth!

But at the same time minimum slap a big HOAX label on the thread's.

like world will end by nukes on October 10th..

come the 11th we still alive they slap a HOAX on the thread.
so at least everyone know's the poster didn't think before he spread lie's.

what would that hurt?

No, You cannot ban a topic just because it scares some people.

How about we just stop talking altogether?

A ban sounds like a great idea.

But can you make it before Oct 28th at 2 o'clock.

I bet 1000 dollars that by late 2012 the world will either be completely out of control or on the brink of implosion.

=)

Just my 2 cents.

magicmushroom, if you are sincerely concerned about the fear of death we can address that in a more sensitive manner. If you are speaking for others, they don't seem to be participating in this thread. If you would like I can direct you to some personal experiences that may ease your concern. Its up to you. My hand is extended.

exactly, deny ignorance. that means that it is each person's decision to review any facts and opinions and to choose where they stand based on the merits of an argument.

Who are you to say what is and isn't plausible or feasible?

By merely blanket banning broad subjects, it takes away the free speech and open discussion that is so important.

Just my .02
