America may very well be replaced by countries like Asian nations like China and India and oil-rich Middle Eastern nations with extremely large sovereign wealth funds - large enough to finance a $700 billion bailout numerous times over.

We fatten them up, gave them everything the got, made our country slaves to their goods and now they will be taking over the world of finances.

The age of American exceptionalism may officially be over. Since the end of WWII, the United States and Wall Street have been the financial capitals of the world. After the current financial crisis, this long accepted fact may no longer be true.

www.economyincrisis.org...

What place American will have once it has fallen behind?

We will become nothing but beggars in order to function as a nation on borrowed money.

I don't think it's the end of America. It's the end of the whole system. The whole thing is going t#ts up.

The pain will be felt in America first, then it will trickle down to every other part of the globe.

It will take a while, but it's all over.

Although the maps may change, the way of life may change, the currency may change, and the leadership may change - I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Mexicanada.

I'm sorry; it's hard to take those articles seriously as it looks like it was written with babelfish.

As for the end of America, this isn't indicative of anything as every major country is of a similar economic structure.

lordtyp0 the truth is that we are a bankrupt superpower in order for the US to finance its massive spending it depends on willingness of Asian bankers to by our debt.

The 700 billion now to be trillions of the bail out money is not money that the Treasury has in a vault waiting to be pulled, is money that have to be borrowed from our lenders, the tax payer money is only going to pay for the interested on that money will accumulate.

Our national debt is a catastrophic debt that we all tax payer have to share including our unborn children.

So in reality we are not longer a wealth builder and that means we are not a producer of anything.

That tittle is now with China.

The super industrialized nation that was the Mecca of prosperity after WWII is not longer, our nation now is a nation indebted, living beyond means with credit debt and no longer can support itself.

Its the end of American global leadership.

Which sucks, because, yes in the last 8yrs America became the country everyone despised.. but back in the day America really was the pinnacle of a true leader.

Investing in America is all be defunct. No one trusts no has confidence in it any more, soley because the rich corporate heads managed to rob the markets and get away clean with billions of dollars.. im sure some of that money belonged to other nations..

This market collapse is really showing something but.

Just how greedy they are.

12months ago, the price of oil was around $1 per litre here, thats when the
cost of oil per barrel was around $100.

NOW?

Oils around $88 per barrel, yet we are still paying $1.50 a litre.

Yeah, China will one day become a superpower, but you all really need to look at China's issues. They are heavily overpopulated. Pollution is on a scale that we've never seen in the US, the Gobi Desert is expanding into settled areas. There is almost no clean water anywhere to drink. The mass majority of people in the rural areas are very uneducated, their monetary system is only doing well because they keep it off of the global markets and many corporations are exploiting people as nothing more than slaves in order to keep labor cheap. The cannot build enough power plants to even keep up with their growing energy demands. Illegal immigration, corruption, human trafficking, and over fishing are other huge issues facing China as well.
I just keep hearing about how China is this great country to be feared, and to be frank, I don't buy it one bit. Not now, at least. Maybe in another couple of generations, but not yet. That is also saying that they are able to successfully overcome all of these issues that they are facing without collapsing before they can do that.

America is America because of the people who live here and what we stand for. We may not lead the world for very long, but that's ok. It will give us a chance to focus on our internal problems for awhile. Let someone else worry about the rest of the world for a change. Some things might change here in the US, but we're not going anywhere, I can assure you of that.

Yes we are not going anymore, but the more US loses its status and the more our nations loses its means to sustain itself we become a nation for sale.

We have been sold piece by piece by nations that were considered our enemies just 10 years ago.

Our nation is becoming defenseless and dependant in the production of other countries to even build our nations weapons.

Something that was unheard off 10 years ago.

The more foreign countries owns of America (because they now own enough) they can influence from our politics to our policies, buy our politicians and even dictate how our loves ones will die in wars for some other countries benefits.

That is what many are getting a blind eye to it, just like we have seen corporate American dictated and manipulate our government and the fate of the tax payer in this nation and the last two wars for profits, just imagine foreign nations doing now that job.

China has issues I agree, but they also has a surplus of cash that America has not seen in decades and guess what they are buying into America like crazy.

So the face of lobbying in Washington buying our corrupted politicians will now have a difference face, they will be Arabs, Chinese, India and Koreans.

Our nation's standards of living are been downgraded and so are the wages that used to support the middle class in the nation.

The same middle class that used to support the nations economy.

Yes America will still be here but we slowing are been owner by anybody with enough money to buy a piece of it.
