Cindy Sheehan Reveals Plan for New National Party

Anti War activist and challenger for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's Congressional Seat (CD 8, California), Cindy Sheehan has indicated her intention to launch a National political party after the U.S. Election of Nov. 4

I've been saying all along that the time is right for a true 3rd party... not these "splinter" groups. I have to admit... at first glance, I like what she says. I only wish it would have come before this election.

I hope she beats Pelosi.....I wonder how she is polling against her right now if she is leading or losing.

as much as i would like a third large party, she isnt the face i want to see on the front of it

I honestly haven't followed her all that much. I know how she feels about the war, and that she's very pasionate about her cause. The way it sounds, she may only be trying to organize it... pull the other major third parties together. What her involvement will be, beyond organizing, I'm not sure.

But why wouldn't you want her to be the face of it? I've read this on other forums too and I don't understand what people have against her... unless that person agrees with the war and with Bush's policies. But if you want true change, we aren't getting it from the repubs or the dems. And the other third parties are all too small to make a difference. So I think what she's doing is just what is needed. No?

a third party is needed but not with sheehan types involved, lord that is to the left of the democrats. another green party. what a wasted effort.

Exactly.

As the Repulicrats merge into one globalist entity all of these 3rd parties are dropping off to either the extreme right or extreme left. I guess they're just reacting to the single party system we've been under for so long and trying to balance our options.

That being said I'd take the anarchy of the extreme right over the socialism of the extreme left any day.

I haven't heard much about Sheehan's candidacy either.

I wonder, though, how she is actually running her campaign.

Is she camped outside of Pelosi's house in CA and refusing to leave until after the election (like she did in Crawford, TX)?

there isn't much difference between mccain's "republican" party and obamas democrat party...a very fine line of distinction.
i mean..mccain tapping gore!! for advise on global warming?!?!?!
he is making very difficult to vote for him.

i say let obama have at it and in four years get palin with someone like jindal or romney in there.

I find it ironic you say socialism of the left. I dont know about you but I have seen this country go more socialistic this past 8 years than I have since FDR. I think you still are under the impression the republicans are still republicans. Sorry their not. Im not voting this year because I have no confidence in any of the two and Ron Paul didnt run. But I will say if I was going to vote I would vote democrat just to wake the republicans up. They need a wake up call in a major way.
