this is breaking news....not much info.....i must say, i felt a bit weird after reading this.....could this be the start of something much bigger?
Wish we knew more but Sky are only reporting a little so far.
I want to know who reported this...Sky says Iranian news agency so it could turn out to be false. If not, watch out....we all thought something would
happen with Iran...this could be the beginning.

Faux news says it was a "falcon". They said that 5 U.S. officers were interrogated and released a day later. This doesn't make sense as a falcon
is an f-16, and they only hold 1 guy, unless it is a training model that holds 2.
This stinks to high heaven.

BBC news links here:
news.bbc.co.uk...
Apparently this has originally come from Reuters via the Fars news agency in Iran.
Intentional or not, I believe the US are going to be not so unhappy about this.. adding to the tension between Iran and the west surely isn't a bad
thing to the Americans, they're really enjoying war right now.

Ok, update....the Pentagon are saying none of their planes are missing. Iran says they let the pilots go after coming to the conclusion it was not
intentional.
If this turns out to be true....this is good for Iran...makes them look good.
Maybe the Pentagon are denying it cos they actually WANTED Iran to shoot it down?
Can you imagine an Iranian fighter plane flying over and landing in USA, and America letting them actually LAND, much less letting them go?

No, the Pentagon are denying it, saying all their planes are accounted for.
It could be what you said, but i don't see how that would impress Iranians.

You make a good point. Perhaps (and I am just putting this out there hypothetically) the US deliberately sent in the planes hoping the Iranians would
shoot them down therefore giving the US excuse to retaliate? Then perhaps the Iranians saw through this plan and forced the plane(s) down then let
them go in a massive public gesture to let the US know they are not going to play that game?
Just a thought...

That's the same thing I was thinking... unless it was a Coast Guard Falcon... but that would make even LESS sense!
Pentagon denying it now though.
Like Iran would really let US pilots go...

Just announced 3 crew and 5 passengers. This is NOT an F-16!

Now I've heard that 5 generals and 3 non military, whatever, were on the plane. 5 generals without an escort? Something smells funny.

Just more brainwashing for the nimble American public.
Most would believe the news telling you that you can hang an elephant by its nose tied to a daisy off a 1000 foot cliff.
Pfft.
Cheers!!!!

excellently put. That's what i meant, only you put it way better
It seems odd that they are saying there were (i think) 3 civilians and 5 military. Why would civilians be in a fighter plane?

Might not mean a f-16 falcon, doesn't dasault make a falcon which is a small business style jet like a lear jet.
How does one force down a jet?

Fly along side it with another more powerful jet armed with guns and squak over the comms channel..."land or be blown out of the sky"
Quite simple and quite effective.
Cheers!!!!

FYI this is world news mate and I happen to be Aussie.
We are just speculating based on what credible news sources have reported. Nothing wrong with speculation is there?

I find that highly unlikely too. At least not without taking video footage first. Or some proof so they could make a complaint with the UN.

That's the point, if you believe the hypothesis we have suggested. The Iranians say it was unintentional which gains more sympathy for their cause
being to tell the US that they will not play the game. By playing the 'it was all above board' game they undermine the US attempts to vilify Iran
and at the same time they look like they are nice people who understand a mistake when they see one.
Get my drift? I hope that makes sense.

America World Police would have shot that plane down with a nuclear missile the day before it took off.
