hi guys,
I've been looking at the mars rover opportunity pics at nasa, there's this 1 Sol1648 that has puzzling features on the left hand side.
Looks like a row of markers to mark a straight long strip . .. road? landing strip?
There is also a gray image running parallel with these marked lines, this line is further to the left.
from here
It's not rover tracks as they look like they are sitting up from the ground and run dead straight and into a point where they both stop.
does anyone know what this could be?

Well you see, my first clue was the rover tracks in the picture.
Then I took it from there.
I'd like to thank zorgon ...

I just wanted to say dayum, LOL! You shot this one down quick! I thought it was rover tracks right off too, well, it is kind of obvious that they are!
But to the OP, keep looking, you are on the right 'track', pardon the pun, keep goin over the photos and reporting what you find anomolous, because
you never know who will make an extrordinary discovery.

Way to go, schrodingers dog
Have a well deserved star from me: in five minutes you have been able to provide an image that says more than many possible written explanations,
that's the type of post i like
Perhaps here took place the U-Turn: this is Opportunity
Rear Hazcam taken on Sol 1641, a week before, but i'm not sure.

Thanks for the debunk! I should have done some more research on that one. looks like even a slight scraping might have done the trick to sort me
out.
