Bush the Gambler

www.washingtonpost.com

Dean Baker writes for the Center for Economic and Policy Research on Bush's recent maneuverings: "This is the first time in the history of the United States that the president has sought to provoke a financial panic to get legislation through Congress. While this has proven to be a successful political strategy, it marks yet another low point in American politics.

"It was incredibly irresponsible for President Bush to tell the American people on national television that the country could be facing another Great Depression. By contrast, when we actually were in the Great Depression, President Roosevelt said that, 'we have nothing to fear, but fear itself.'

"It was even more irresponsible for him to seize on the decline in the stock market five days later as evidence that his bailout was needed for the economy.

Dan Froomkin of the WaPost examines "Bush's role in creating--and hyping--the crisis"--and the excerpts of recent news articles he compiles is a scathing indictment, even for MSM standards.

Political expediency, cynicism, fear-mongering, military adventurism instead of sound investment, nonexistent oversight, downright complicity--the list of charges is an indictment of (yet another) monumental failure of this disastrous presidency. Even more amazingly, it is coming from the mainstream press.

Is it Bush engineering this?

Is it puppetmasters?

Or is this just the next step (after the food crisis, oil crisis, mid east crisis, terror crisis) that will allow TPTB to implement martial law and call off the election.

Was it a mere coincidence that McCain put his campaign on hold?

Especially if you consider his political suicide remark about bypassing congress...
www.abovetopsecret.com...

This could be just the latest move in the conspiracy to implement the first American Dictatorship.

It would make it an awfull lot easier to get around "that goddamned piece of paper" therwise known as the constitution......
