Don't turn on fox news!

<<  1    2    3    4  >>

Topic started on 5-10-2008 @ 11:40 PM by Frankidealist35

They're running a smear campaign against Barack Obama. They're trying to paint him as a terrorist with radicalist ties. This is nothing but propaganda made up by Rupord Murdoch to support the GOP.

If you're watching TV do not watch Fox News.

They are putting out the same kind of bs again and again.

Don't let fox brainwash you. Don't just watch fox news for fun. DO NOT WATCH IT AT ALL.

Unfortunately Fox News is the only news on tv that comes close to being fair and balanced.

"Don't turn on Fox news?"

You know, reverse psychology doesn't work.

edit: It's actually kinda funny to see them in panic mode.
Let's see what happens with morning latte tomorrow.

Fox is the only news channel NOT smearing McCain/Palin. Have any comment on that?

I received this in an email today, don't know what to make of it. What do you think? I omitted the womans name (author) for obvious reasons.

"This election has me very worried. So many things to consider. About a year ago I would have voted for Obama. I have changed my mind three times since than. I watch all the news channels, jumping from one to another. I must say this drives my husband crazy. But, I feel if you view MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News, you might get some middle ground to work with. About six months ago, I star ted thinking 'where did the money come from for Obama'. I have four daughters who went to College, and we were middle class, and money was tight. We (including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of student loans.

I started looking into Obama's life.

Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California . He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did not apply himself to his studies. 'Barry' (that was the name he used all his life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid Hamid, both from Pakistan . During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a 'round the world' trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia , next Hyderabad in India , three weeks in Karachi , Pakistan where he stayed with his roommate's family, then off to Africa to visit his father's family. My question - Where did he get the money for this trip? Nether I, nor any one of my children would have had money for a trip like this when they where in college. When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York . It is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry. Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia ? It's not cheap to say the least! Where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe. After Columbia , he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for $12,000 a year. Why Chicago ? Why not New York ? He was already living in New York .

By 'chance' he met Antoin 'Tony' Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria , and a real estate developer in Chicago . Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery this year. Rezko, was named 'Entrepreneur of the Decade' by the Arab-American Business and Professional Association'. About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School . Do you have any idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School ? Where did he get the money for Law School ? More student loans? After Law school, he went back to Chicago . Rezko offered him a job, which he turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland. Guess what? They represented 'Rezar' which is Rezko's firm. Rezko w as one of Obama's first major financial contributors when he ran for office in Chicago . In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune report er David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with 'seed money' for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home in Kenwoood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price). With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for the property? On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita, purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price. The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama's new home was purchased. Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko.

Now, we have Obama running for President. Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss. She is now Obama's chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to her first. Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz , Iran ! Do we see a pattern here? Or am I going crazy?

On May 10, 2008 The Times reported, Robert Malley, advisor to Obama, was 'sacked' after the press found out he was having regular contact s with 'Hamas', which controls Gaza and is connected with Iran . This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers reported that during Obama's visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will 'Take care of things'.

Oh, and by the way, remember the college roommates that where born in Pakistan ? They are in charge of all those 'small' Internet campaign contributions for Obama. Where is that money coming from? The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle East ?

And the final bit of news. On September 7, 2008, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was made on 'This Week' with George Stephanapoulos. Obama on talking about his religion said, 'My Muslim faith'. When questioned, 'he made a mistake'. Some mistake!

All of the above information I got on line. If you would like to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia, Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett: Daily Times - Obama visited Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008; The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own, Why haven't all of our 'intelligent' members of the press been reporting this?
A phrase that keeps ringing in my ear - 'Beware of the enemy from within'!!!"

I received this from a client who was a huge Hillary supporter. I would have guessed this to be something circulated by the Republicans. What do you make of it?

I like your style Frankidealist35 and couldn't agree more! Personally, I NEVER watch any mainstream media...it's ALL hogwash! None of the so-called news agencies would ever let you know the truth...they're bought and paid for by the powers that be in Washington, that are each given specific "talking points" every day and dwell on they exclusively, it's all cr.p...just don't watch any of 'em! If you want to learn the truth about what's goin' on in this country or the world...get it online at truth-telling news sites!

See how sour all this had made you DG?

The truth is that both candidates are perfectly fine people. They are locked in a death struggle, with millions of people backing them, and millions of dollars financing the whole mess. But neither of these candidates is really evil. Pretty sure, anyway.

This whole election process is not good for the collective psyche. It is generating a lot of pointless hatred.

They're running a smear campaign against Barack Obama

reply to post by Frankidealist35

Are you denying that Barack had/ has terrorist friends! We're supposed to be denying ignorance here, you know.

FYO, Fox is currently running a financial special unraveling the current fanancial crisis and showing probable cause. Names like Franks, Dodds, Obama, Schumer and Pelosi not surprisingly come up a lot as culprits. It's time to start understanding before it's too late and we are in complete financial collapse, folks! We are supposed to be in the forefront here!

Hardly. They're basically trying to create a realistic story to make it seem possible that Obama could be a Muslim/terrorist/extremist. They're creating believable stories, and, they're doing this to distract the voters.

And Fox News is hardly balanced. Fox news has a conservative spin. Basically, they will not take the Democrats side for anything, and they support the Republican party. So they're just taking Palin's statement and they're trying to scare voters from voting for Democrat.

What else are they doing?

They're saying Obama has illegal funding. www.reuters.com... So Obama gets a lot of donations, so, they're trying to make it seem like he doesn't play fair. That makes sense.

They're lying about Obama's past. I don't know if you have the same fox news in your area as I do in mine but in my area they're showing some kind of show called "Obama and friends" which is trying to send a message to voters that Obama is a terrorist and that he hangs out with terrorist and that he is trying to put his past behind him.

Just a question here..

If the stories are so false, why the desire to cover them up by calling for not watching them?

Would not the truth be better served by coming out instead of covering up?

I will always be very cautious of anyone telling me to "Not Watch" something because "they" have decided I should not see it.

Why did Hitler burn books? He did not want anyone reading them...

Rooster -- you are just relaying on something that is purely an ad hominem attack. It is all based on pure speculation about motive, none of which is real.

It is all fiction, like me saying Sean Hannity beats his kids, obviously so, because he is so clearly nasty to his staff! Therefore, everything Sean Hannity says is obviously lie. (An example of an ad hominem attack based on speculation.)

#

This is just a case of anger over nothing. The press -- both sides -- are purposely generating anger in people. Hatred is the easiest emotion to trigger (even easier than fear) and it is one of the most base and low emotional states we can exist in.

Take a look at that letter. What was the point of it? Clearly, it was written to make someone angry at Obama. What other purpose could it serve, really? Yet it is filled with strange speculation about Obama's motives, and nothing more.

It is a type of manipulation.

I should have the same Fox News. After your post, I turned it over there. It was Sean Hannity. I never saw Sean call Barrack a "terrorist". Now, once again, what exactly were they lying about?
