Greetings,

I'm a big cartoons fan, and, of course, occult-and-paranormal-related-stuff fan too.!!!

Anyways, one day I watched an American cartoon made for kids called "Totally Spies", and it wasn't interesting until they mentioned that episode's villain's name: "Aleister Crowley". The villain guy has nothing to do or related to the real Aleister Crowley.

I looked over the internet, I couldn't find why they decided to call the villain guy Aleister Crowley....
Could that cartoon creators trying to give the ideas to the kids about occultism or realated ideologies? I also found that the cartoon is not only American but also French!!!

What do u guys think?

I say the fake anim isn't brainwashing people....I just think it is just a random name nothing more, you know, how some cartoons name characters after anyone they can think of? Well that could be the case here. So I don't think it has anything to do with the occult in anyway.

But I really don't know since I don't watch the fake anim like that.

Hello Curiosity,,...

Thanx for the reply....

I guess from ur avatar that u r a cartoon fan too...

anyways, what do u think about the rule of cartoons? i mean by if u have already noticed, cartoons changes during decades, do u think that cartoons have a rule on children? do they or can they control children's behavior and mentality?

I think cartoons can affect children's mind, or the cartonist think so. Besides Japanese anime, the American cartoons always have the "Hero Vs. Villains" ideology and that the hero defeats the Villain anytime without much of hasle. Same like when President Bush talks about "the evil doers" and "we prevail the evil", etc.. It is like Bush is from a cartoon like G.I. Joe!!!!

I know exactly what cartoon you're talking about. I hate the show, myself, and only watched like 2 minutes of it once. It's about three valley-girl-types that are actually super secret, kung-fu kicking spies. I believe it airs on Cartoon Network. It IS curious that they would name a character Aleister Crowley (do you, btw, know who he is now? --just wondering).

I can imagine some kid watching the show, who, 10-20 years from now comes across some Aleister Crowley document and swears they've heard the name before, but they'd never be able to place it (being that they'd never believe it could've been in that cartoon).

This is the kind of thing that lends itself to the belief that hollywood believes it can brainwash and insert pre-conceived notions about items and people into the minds of young children. Done so right under the nose of parents and the like, who wouldn't ever suspect that the cartoons are doing it.

I can't believe I just wrote 3 paragraphs about Totally Spies.

i dont know if they are trying to get kids interested in occultic activities but i will say this

The cartoons that kids see today are the worst of drivel and the is no thinking or morals involved in them.

where im at in america the flintstones, bugs bunny, and any number of quality cartoons and childrens programming is no longer availilble.

alot of what there seeing now is violent and revenge based programming.

when i was a kid it was the land of the lost...HR.puff n stuff ....syd and marty Kroft hour of power...wonderama..zoom...bugs...the groovy ghoulies...scooby doo....courageous cat and minute mouse....Tom and jerry...josie and the pussy cats.....captain caveman....fat albert.....captain kangaroo
magilla gorilla

some of this stuff is the product of the far out 60's .....but you know what it produced imagination in children and for the most part not a brain washed, vengence loving, non caring child

Hello Cappa...

I can't really remember who was the villain guy (his porpuse in the cartoon)...
I just made a google search on it, but it gave me a different name: Dr. Aldous Crowley, not Aleister Crowley.

I remember perfectly back then that the guy wasnt Dr. Aldous Crowley but Aleister Crowley because back then I was reading Aleister Crowley book: "Book of Lies". And i was aware of his name. That's why when they mentioned the name, I immediatly recognized it as Aleister Crowley. I wish could someone verifies it to be sure that I wasnt wrong on this.

BTW, I watched it in Italian!!! (could Italians changed that name to Aleister Crowley? if so why?)

"I am perplexed," ~ Aleister Crowley

I just wanted to point out that....the last two pictures, they are the DISNEYLAND logos, they were never a logo for the compony. I tried to find the original Walt Disney co. logo but I came up nothing, the one on the old Fantasia poster is the closest to it....

also I looked and the movies/cartoons that he did, the logo was useualy in the style font of the title. that logo that we use now was made after his death.

Sorry, I just wanted to point that out.....so don't get angry at me.....

Thank god there is somebody else out there with this belief. I am so sick of all the americanized crap passing itself off as anime. Think I'll go home and watch 'X' tonight.

As for the AC reference, there is probably no relievence other then it seems like a creepy name to begin with.

I'm glad this thread was brought back...

I went with a couple friends of mine, and their children, to the movies this past weekend. We went to see "Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed". When the gang walks into the huge, mysterious haunted castle, they come to the Library.

While in the Library, Daphne (I think thats the smart one) is looking through the books and reads off a few of the names-- others I had never heard of, but then (bing) Aleister Crowley's name appears.

Now, like others, I hadn't heard of Crowley until I came upon a few of his books (Book of Law, Book of Lies, and numerous smaller texts regarding channeling and magic). Immediately when I heard her say his name, I thought to myself, "how would any child know of this man? And why would anyone want his name known?"

Hey, I remember this from Scooby Doo 2 and Totally Spies now. I didn't realise it was actually based on anyone real though.
O/T: When did Mystery Inc get a house? They always used to just be in The Mystery Machine.

Back to the point: when watching the God channel a few weeks ago (purely for amusement, i'm not religious) the preacher was talking about TV and the occult. Apparently Buffy, Angel, Superman, Power Rangers,The Smurfs, Harry Potter, Pokemonand UBOS etc. are teaching children a dangerous association with the occult.
About the only safe show is Arthur.

PS: more fake anime: Sonic X.

Greetings to everyone -
I'm new to this board but can't help post to some of the goofy comments left by sort of goofy people like 'Watcher in the Skies' above about the drivel, occultism and violence that's shoved down our kids throats these days. Every generation takes a step down the ladder. What was violent to our parents was normal to us. What's violent to us now is normal to our children and our children will be telling their children the same thing.
I'm guessing Tom and Jerry wasn't very violent? H.R. Puffenstuff taught you morals? Bugs Bunny never asked anyone 'how many lumps do'ya want' and proceeded to deck anyone with a sledgehammer?
I know what you mean about all the violence on television though. After my kids are done watching Bear in the Big Blue House, Blue's Clues or the Wiggles the first place they head is under their beds, yank out their brass knuckles and assault weapons to tell me their hittin' da street!
Quit growing so old and failing to enjoy new things.
As for the 'brain-washed, non-loving, non-caring child' thingy you mentioned? That just comes from their upbringing. Most parents are too busy naysaying all the stuff that's out right now because it's not what THEY watched growing up. Things change. Really sit down and actually watch some of the new shows not with your aging-glaucoma covered eyes but with the eyes of a young, fresh mind.
Take care,
Coatimundi

I've seen that show a few times. The villains pretty much get some kind of random name for the most part. That or a descriptive name. If you ask me the shows a rip off of Charlies Angels. But I stongly doubt that there advirtising the accult. Most kids wouldn't even think of the occult.

I agree with the sentiment in this thread. We as a society are being flushed down the toilet through our pop culture. Weither it be movies, music, cartoons, books, you name it. By the way, using the name Alister Crowley in a cartoon. In my opinion, is about as much of an "accident" or "coincidence", as the courts in Colorado accidentally releasing the name of Koby Bryant's accuser in his rape trial 3 times. Here are a couple of my observations.

Disney Channel's Recess cartoon- The principals name is Principle Prickley. Out of all of the names they could have used, that's what they chose?

Britney Spears- The idol of young girls everywhere, saying "Whoops, I did it again. I played with your heart. Got lost in the game, oh baby baby." I would never let my daughter listen to that crapola. What kind of message is that suppossed to send to young girls about love?

Tom Sawyer

I saw that the guy Mr Mysterious I think his name was. He was a huge conspiracy buff. That episode talked about a military private company connection and a secret group running the show.

I loved when he said it wasnt conspiracy theories, rather it was conspiracy theory a singular conspiracy that connected them all. The episode also dealt with cloning.

It is a great cartoon, well written

All film makers are basically artists, whether its Tarantino's numerology references or a cartoonists use of an obscure writers name for a villain. It means nothing more than a little intellectual showmanship for anyone whose bothered with the detail.
