I agree. It is cool to find the things they are making references too, though.
And, in the DC Comics world, the Illuminati does exist, and has existed since the time of ancient Egypt... and for all those thousands of years has a leader that is basically immortal (due to an accident involving a radioactive meteor which crashed to Earth in the days of Neanderthals) named Vandal Savage.
Vandal Savage has taken on the Justice League from the time to time; it always ends in a draw, though...

It is kind of interesting what kinds of references are in cartoons. But luckly most kids what know these things. Marvel comics has its fair share of references. BTW anybody seen the Tomb Raider movie. Well the Illuminati is the main enemy in the movie. And it has them as a group devoted to searching for a triangle that can grant time travel. Probably not what the real Illuminati is about but I always thought it was interesting.
