An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.

Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.

Buddha

The current system is corrupt, Zeitgeist holds a very important message, Our entire time period will be looked at with disgust by the people of the future, only those that stand for truth and act with selfless compasion will be remembered.

i am interested in moving off of the grid and have been prior to seeing zeitgeist. watching both zeitgeist films just reiterated feelings that i have already been having.

if there is anyone living currently off of the grid in a temperate climate who would like one or two more to help them and keep them company please contact me.

"Boycott Cittibank, JP Morgan Chase, and Bank of America. (Weird that these are the banks that bought out all the other banks when they went under last month. I wonder what Peter Joseph was thinking.)"

I believe the point Joseph was going for was like in the great depression when these people bought rival corporations at pennies on the dollar, they are doing the same here. consolidating the power base, while at the same time getting rid of their competition. I'm thinking that the "Men behind the curtain" think that they can have a cyclical nature to the economy, let it grow, get lots of competitors, then whammo, clean up, and start over again.

I don't know why, because as Joseph stated this process and inherently unsustainable. At some point, the system will crash, SO what will the "Men behind the curtain" do at that point.

I do agree that the change suggested seems to be a better way of doing things, but think about it from there point of view, if as Joseph suggested we are coming to the end of a particular way of doing things, then what is the next step for them. In other words, What is the 'powers' going to do next to retain control. Or are they so busy trying to save this process they can't sit up for a sec and realize, "oh crap, what are we gonna do tomorrow, when we cant get it fixed?" Joseph brings a good solution to the table, but we need to find out what are the "powers" going to do to undermine it, and what are they going to replace the current status quo with.

"Know thy enemy, Know thyself, and you will be victorious" - Sun Tzu

the thing is, believe there is such a thing as healthy competition, where the motivation comes from wanting to do better for yourself. But as it has been suggested, these altruistic beliefs are then highjacked and used for nefarious purposes.

i guess I'll just end it at that

We are more aware then most think...Boycotting the military is bad news, instead keep educating them on what really is going on.

Here here.

Look, Zeitgeist is a fantastic film, but I lost a lot of respect when he said "boycott the military". The military is NOT our enemy.

Remember: soil and green is people!!!

very good post, i feel the same way; because alot of peolple figured this out already. the movie is a device to get people to understand.

Now that you know...
You should feel obligated to humanity to change the way things are. The truth is one person can influence millions with strategy and proper motivation (see Rosa Parks)

Fair enough...

But war is our enemy

The aim shouldn't be to build a better military. The aim should be to build a better unified World. We either Unify or we Divide and Conquer. The Military is used for one and not the other

I agree with you. Finding a way to change society in a nonviolent way will be the BIG challenge. If there really is a ruling elite which has given us our monetary, economic, politic, religious systems and so on, if they have orchestrated things like 9/11 and are in the course of uniting North America in order to join it with the other unions and eventually form a world government, what do you think will they do about OUR movement? It is after all directly aimed at making their system obsolete and thus destroying their power. If they have taken their ideas this far (imagine where we are now), do you think they will let us convert to a resource based economy peacefully? Do you really think they will give up their thrones without putting up a fight, and when I say fight, I mean brutality and violence?

Listen here...

I do not think it is a question of whether you WILL or WILL NOT join the "MOVEMENT."

It is a question of whether you can spread the IDEA of the movement.

I think MOST Zeitgeist viewers already agree with what's being told, so their "recruitment" isn't a difficult task. It's the billions of people who HAVEN'T SEEN ZEITGEIST that will make the difference. So along with those 6 points, you need to SPREAD THE WORD.

I use social sites like facebook and myspace, and yesterday i sent a message to every single one of my "friends" with a link to the Zeitgeist movie.

If you believe in Zeitgeist and/or any of its principles, DO THE SAME.

SPREAD THE WORD.

Encourage viewers to sit through it. Most people I know, who are sadly not very politcally minded, will get bored after the first few minutes of the MONETARY section...but if you can get them to sit through to eventually see the conclusion, it will eventually get to them.

So one more time...SPREAD the WORD

And encourage those persons to continue that tradition and SPREAD the WORD themselves.

No-one knows what the 'movement' is, because the site hasn't been opened yet! So we will all have to reserve judgement until the details of what the 'movement' entails comes to light. I will be checking in to find out more once the www.thezeitgeistmovement.com site has content. I dont drive a car, I dont work for a bank nor do I bank with any of those listed. I would never join ANY army. I will continue to use open-source software rather than use any MS s/w, for example, I think little things like that are a step in the right direction. Eventually, I hope we will continue to evolve past these social constructs that limit us.

Join? I find it absolutely amazing that something that I have been talking about to friends, family, and coworkers, for 30 years is now someone else's idea of a movement. But to make it happen, I am selfless in asking for credit. WE ALL need to make this happen.

1. To create a new paradigm, we must stop putting energy into the current one.

2. While No one technology have shown to be an effective replacement for fuel-based power generation, by combining several we can drastically reduce our need for oil, both foreign and domestic.

3. By NOT choosing to pick a candidate from the twp party farce, and instead elect Libertarians and independents, we can affect change in the political process.

4. Instead of complaining about the high cost of gas, don't buy it. Use public transportation if you can, human powered transportation if possible. If enough people stop buying gas for several days, the lack of demand will force the prices down.

5. Use the Stamp for Checks, and stop paying the voluntary income tax imposed by the unconstitutional IRS. If you cannot get your employer to stop withholding income tax, you will still have to file a return to get it refunded.

But most of all, stop feeding "them" by continuing to fear and hate. The actions we take based on love do make a difference. It is the one thing that the globalists do fear.

quotes taken from the site ( www.thevenusproject.com... ) .
Experience tells us that human behavior can be modified. (sorry the red pill has been replaced by the blue one)
( my answers and questions)
When one considers the enormity of the challenges facing society today, we can safely conclude that the time is long overdue for us to reexamine our values,
(why not use the ones we have as they are fair and true)
This is what The Venus Project is all about - directing our technology and resources toward the positive, for the maximum benefit of people and planet and seeking out new ways of thinking and living that emphasize and celebrate the vast potential of the human spirit.
(So you conclude that the spirit of a human is negative and positive. And you want to change the spirit to a positive source. What does lightning attract it self to, a negative source. I know from my experiences in different types of religions that the negative source may be a grounding source to those with too much positive energy.)
Project calls for a straightforward approach to the redesign of a culture, in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt, environmental degradation and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable, but totally unacceptable.
(Culture is what the human spirit is about, your culture describes you. How is it that this project tends to make YOU above all others)?
In such a society, the measure of success would be based on the fulfillment of one's individual pursuits rather than the acquisition of wealth, property and power.
(So to those who thought just sitting on your butt was utopia you’re wrong, meaning the more you fulfill the societies needs the more you will have? What about the ones who sit on their butt, do they get special treatments. Do they get special behavior modifications, or are they looked down upon, I see so many things that judge you on your merit than your mind that you will be judged wrongly due to your lack of providing the system (Venus project) that you will be degraded and humiliated. )

4. Assisting in stabilizing the world's population through education and voluntary birth control
(So they Kill your unborn child to fulfill the quota of persons, and who decides the proper number and who decides when you can have and not have babies, does it go with what the Project needs and not the Human Spirit needs?)

This is as far as I got; I did not go through the rest of the story, cause it is a nightmare story.

The world cannot sustain infinite amount of people. So there needs to be laws that restrict the amount of children per family.

The aim must be to step out of, and permanently aside, from this current system. This economic disaster and meltdown, with possible 911 type events and war, is to bring about their corporate nwo global dictatorship. Of course most people aren't going to connect the dots and see it. But so far survivalists have this every man for himself attitude that is frightening. Any time people react with violence it further justifies their actions. Note, there truly are exceptions, but the confusion happens instantly, and in that confusion they paint a different public opinion.
This movement needs to start with group meetings showing this film and going far further in communities. It needs to be a group, not one that needs any money to contribute and accepts small manageable donations from its members and the public. Two dollars to one is like another person's hundred, we live in vast inequality within our system.
We need to form an active group in every community that advertises and puts out door to door invitations at times, and creates its own websites and even local internet radio, that is there not only to wake people up, and some will, but to start and prepare and coordinate activities. There is no reason for lack of preparedness now. Even if things don't happen as thought, having back up always to any meltdown or disaster is a good thing, and a worthy group to have around. They don't just have to be for the radicals.
This group should concern itself with many aspects such as collecting knowledge and pooling things to build and store ham radios, off the grid electronics, tents and tools to build cob style houses. Seeds. It should teach people to start getting heritage seeds and grow even an indoor container garden. Water purifiers. This should include educator slightly older children and get them to start working at building things. It should include lists of people who will help should the aged, the handicapped, the mothers with young children, the impaired suddenly have their base support cut off. This is going to need organized care, tents and lodging. Its time to make the people at the top look like the mismanaged fools they are and start to redo it. While land can be bought, if enough people who have money can, it should be pooled up. But most and many do not have that option so if a real emergency happens the protocol to group people up and form whatever fledging tent communities will be paramount, with food and water being paramount, and whatever medical we can do. Think about it, its a big job. It will take getting the message out in the community that preparing for this and a new resource based world can be created.

The real irony is this kind of approach, in case of emergencies, should have already been in place all along, also with the radical thinkers who have studied alternate community planning, so a resource community would already be on the table. People don't have to be convinced of everything, but they'll keep it in mind even if they swear up a storm when they hear it. Also, theres a lot of teenage kids who would benefit from some mentoring programs. Groups for teens that teach them some physics and ham radio building and operation, and survival skills, and projects that benefit whole communities could be a part of it.

Edit: distilleries can be readied for construction and kits for mods on cars. Rotting leaves and debris is abundant, and it actually creates a lot of excess co2 in the atmosphere as it is. It also can make clean alchohol to run vehicles in emergencies. Alchohol and electric conversion kits make sense for development in emergency planning, because eventually, if things get really bad, groups will need to meet up. A new world can emerge!

I am sorry, but the Venus project is not the answer. Please read what they indend to do. Its called what are we about on the web page , left top corner of the page. In times of these, as has happened in the past, movements and governments are formed that are not quite as good as people think they are , as in Germany durring the last depression. Now if we as people as I am in the USA use the government laws that we have in our founding fathers wishes then all this money, food, and social probems would not be here. iTs quite YOUR fault as YOU put these people in power to guide the country with there special interest. Like I said the Venus project although it has good ideas it leaves so much out that can be interputed as a matrix. Who will control those who are in power in the project. If its the people, then we will have the same problem again, as it is the people who have power, not the government, or do we leave it to people who made this project?. So many unanswered questions. So much they have said that make me think it is a nightmare.

I 100% agree with mystiq. If you haven’t mystiq's post two above mine, then please do so now. Think Global Act Local. We need a craigslist-esque site where we can click on cities and locations near our own and we can find out what is happening near us. Local organization I feel is most important.

I also agree that the venus project isn't the solution. I think that zeitgeist is great and that the movement allows like-minded people to better organize and that's great, but the venus project is just one idea and it's projecting too far ahead. Right now lets just use the zeitgeist website as a springboard to get organized. We all agree that the system is outdated and that we can change and better society, lets see where this takes us rather than jumping off one bandwagon right onto the next.

I'm all for the movement and all that, but there's one thing I think I should point out:

Does anyone else find it ironic that a thread on the revolutionary movement away from materialism and consumerism is plagued with word-linked advertisements from hordes of companies, including Exxon, debt-buyers, and loan-makers?

I just had to laugh at that.

Are you serious? To be silent?  To be silent is to be afraid, to be silent is to accept, to be silent is to not give a damn of the injustices being done to humanity! Are you actually so selfish to administer such criticism belief that if everyone just doesn't do, then just not doing will change the irrational way of thinking our civilization and society has become brain washed to.  I understand your motive and your actions,  you're a suppurative and you stand alone for you and only you, but in the long run regardless of you acting on your beliefs you are still being effected by the way the world is at hand, you are still going to be a pawn in the biggest down fall our universe has ever known.  I'm not saying it is obligated for you to join a movement, but to think for one second that you are free and clear of any adverse socialistic slavery is just plain silly nonsense.Best WishesWiserman

A resource economy with no money is the only thing I will spend my life working towards and any others I volunteer to due to the world still enduring hell and poverty due to the greed of some. Also, it is exactly like linux open source versus propriety operating systems and software. That is something Michael St. Clair speaks about. Project Venus is one of many of the new villages cropping up already that are like that. Search for Michael's website. This man is also a contactee.
This is the only solution for the future.
