No problem. It's better to make a mistake and learn from it than to never open your mouth in the first place. I've learned a lot by being wrong, especially on this forum (well, more so in my earlier years, I've got the scientific fact quite straight these days). Thankfully, I don't care about looking stupid, I care about the truth. If I've got the truth, I don't care.

Cosmic, we have a better understanding of light today than Newton did, mainly because he didn't have access to any of the resources we have now. We've also had a few hundred years to study the subject, I'm sure that helps. There are numerous things that Newton couldn't have understood, particularly the wave/particle duality of light.

Sure, we don't have a 100% solid understanding of it yet, but everyday is a step closer.
