Not true. The Palin pick was designed to rally the GOP base and to grab the headlines: it worked.



What makes you say that? Just becasue she had some rote responses in her NBC interview? That doesn't mean that she has no opinions of her own. All VP's move closer to the views of the person at the top of the ticket.

Palin was a sucessful mayor, governor, and state energy controller, without any talking points from the McCain campaign. In fact, she kicked out most of the Alaska GOP that helped her come to power.

She is an independant mind and has the track record to prove it.

Palin just need to be herself. She got some pointers from her party and some debate practice so she just needs to be herself. As long as Biden doesn't ask someone in a wheelchair to stand up then he should do well. It's going to be an interesting debate to say the least. If this " bailout " whoops I mean " rescue " bill passes then does it matter who wins. What matters is we the people lost. It won't matter who wins the race because either way we'll end up screwed.

You got to understand that the chances of these debate turning into a disaster is very high.

With Gov. Palin latest interviews slips and Sen. Biden been so....Biden, this could very well turn into SNL.

Right about now McCain is wishing he picked a real running mate instead of a gimmick. Oh well, his loss is Obama's lucky break.

The big question is whether she will have her hair up as usual or wear it down to hide a receiver in her ear.

Then you're just blind, because you aren't doing anything but putting in the same people causing the same mess over again. Obama voted for this bailout, meaning he's voting to nationalize the economy.

But wait, it gets better. Since you're an Obama supporter, then you should know that not only will the U.S. have a nationalized economy, we'll have nationalized healthcare. And then nationalized energy markets will follow in short order.

The leftists, aided by the media, have been pounding the ground hard for a year and a half now that all of this nation's problems from the energy crisis, to the financial crisis to starvation in the streets are the fault of George W. Bush, and they are pushing hard for Obama to get into office.

Just you wait. Like I said, you think things are bad now. In 2 years this country will most likely be four times as bad off as it is now. But of course, none of you Democrats give a damn about the truth anymore.

First off, this is bs. Nobody is nationalizing economy and that sentence is plain silly.

Second, McCain voted for it as well -- means it's not as socialist as you so desperately are trying to portray.

And again, Bush and his homunculi like McCain got us into this hole, and it's plain stupid to keep stepping on the Republican rake.

Go back and read the bill. It "bails out" executives who made piss-poor business decisions and people who couldn't get into homes with traditional loans, yet had no problem signing sub-prime mortgages without reading the paperwork. They screwed up and the government is giving them a pass, on our dime (middle class taxpayers). How is that NOT socialist?? As for companies whom have failed in the last few months, the government has assumed their assets. How is that not nationalization? If it's not, I'd to know what you call it. It's true that McCain voted for it, but he's not trying to nationalize Healthcare and energy at the same time.

And as for Bush, you're incorrect there too. This mess is the fault of the Democrats, and even Bill Clinton agreed with that statement (Read Here). So, what - you're going to say that Clinton is wrong now?

Both McCain and Obama (along with Biden) voted for that bill. So, there is plenty of blame to pass around.

Plus, this isn't what this thread is about. It is suppose to be about the debate....not how ignorant Palin "seems" to be to some people, not about the bailout bill, not about McCain, and not about Obama.

It's a debate between the VP candidates....hence the name, subject, and topic of this thread.

You making sound like if Bush economic policies have been a bless for this country and it hasn't cost any job loss, it hasn't contributed to this mortages mess, it hasn't hur the middle class or nothing.

The mortagages mess was cause by democrats and republicans alike in Congress and they should be handed down their punishment come November for those that didnt want to reform Freddie and Fannie and also for those who took contributions from the companies.

Reality check, those videos were not filmed in her hometown of Wasilla, they were filmed within the City of Anchorage. Anchorage, AK is a well known Democrat strong-hold, as it calls itself home to many transplants from areas such as Seattle, WA.

Obama IS a Socialist. What do you call a complete Federal Government takeover of the Healthcare and Education systems? THAT is the purest definition of Socialism, and for you to fail to grasp such a fact is disconcerting. Obama is beyond a simple Socialist, he is in fact a Marxist. He also wants to stomp all over the 2nd Amendment by Federally instilling strict Firearms Bans, as well as his policy wish of expanding the definition of "Hate" Crimes (As opposed to "Love" Crimes), and increasing Welfare dependency. That is Socialism, which is only one step right of Communism.
