No, Dewm0nster is not making me angry... he/she is carried away at attacking another member. I've never enjoyed that in discussion groups. Sorry to post off topic from the OP but Dewm0nster is doing far worse.

No, nevermind.

Dewm0nster... aren't you violating ATS TOS with your frequent posts doing nothing but attack a valued member? I've seen harmless people banned from ATS whom did nothing towards attempting to insult other members.

Your posts are not funny. I cetainly don't appreciate any I've read yet. Are you drunk by chance?

Perhaps you should look at the site your in. This is a conspiracy forum, it's a place for people to vent thier concerns and give thier opinions on matters. If your here just to make fun of people who's views seem to "out there" for you. Then i suggest your in the wrong forum. Go make fun of the people on YT or something and leave the people here in peace to dicuss things intelligently.

Alright. For those of you who conveniently missed it, the article is from the ARMYTIMES, it is an article stating the brigades would be here TODAY and would be around the USA as precaution. (precaution as to what i do not know)

YOU dont reaD THE NEWS, and you do not care. Its NOT SOMETHING that happens ordinarily here- SOOOOOOOO, i merely asked if anyone has seen them to post it.

I am not the crazy one here, i am one who cares what happens and because i care, i asked if anyone saw them, please report it here.IT IS NOT SOMETHING I MADE UP . Go back a few pages and a couple of us have quoted the MILITARY having this iin place as of October 1. Too lazy to go read it? Too bad.

THIS aint the Federation of Light

Again, those of you who are used to seeing this in your streets, you are accustomed to it and you dont think anything of it,

For those of us who are NOT USED to this, if it comes to seeing troops in street corners it will be a first for us. No need to laugh at Americans at all,
We certainly have enjoyed life on a grander scale than those of you from dictatorships an those of you who never have been free, Or have had a semi-free society.

My questions are: Why?
What will they be here for?
Are they here like Hitler had his troops everywhere for FEARMONGERING?
Is it not enough to
have cops in riot gear whenever possible for FEARMONGERING?

Those of you who cannot see anything wrong with this ARE brainwashed and i feel sorryfor you.

I am very sane, thank you. No wonder we have reached the state we are in today, its minds like most of yours , indifferent and brainwashed, that have taken up to the dark depths we are in today.

If i were you i'd start caring.

Another thing, this thread was not a boogie man thread, nor was it a thread to panic anyone. This was a genuine thread following up on all the threads of the supposed troops being here on October 1.

Grow up.

Nothing is happening at MCLB Albany.

I work there, and things were normal today. In fact, it was a slow, peaceful day.....except for me because I spent half of my day in Pass and ID which I swear is one of the circles of HELL!!!!

The thread is getting off topic. This thread was not for people to bash each other. If you see troops in the area then make a post about it. If your post has nothing to do with the troops in our country then don't post it. This is not the thread for that. Dgtempe did not make a thread for people to deny this is happening either. So if you see our troops acting suspicious then report it and if you don't see them then don't post about other issues. Simple as that.

I have not seen any troops but I will keep my eye out. On Monday though, air raid sirens went off starting around 830am. I looked in the local news about it and there was nothing. The last time I heard these sirens were at 4am a few months ago. I hope not to hear these sirens again. These sirens scared the s*** out me.

I just ask that before anyone says anything off hand or otherwise degrading. We are sworn to uphold the constitution.

I know & so do most here at ATS. I'm a Vet of the first Gulf War Era & I know the Oath...Even though I'm no longer legally obligated to uphold it, I still do out of morals & ethics.

I'm pretty sure that I can speak for many ATS members that most soldiers do abide by their Oaths, but I'm also sure that, as long as you've been Active Duty, you've probably met a few of those kinds of soldiers that are "edgy" & act a "hardcore attitude" that makes a sane person wonder. Besides, with the Military Commissions Act & the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act having passed, that also raises doubts in the minds of Citizens. The Government's widely-known use of mercenaries, like Blackwater, tends to raise more doubts: And let's not forget that if UN Troops are also deployed here, they will consist of foreign troops with no loyalty at all to the US population. There's also reports of soldiers having lots of mental problems resulting from continual re-deployments in the Middle East & being strung out thinly...After all, US Military is stationed in over 130 countries world-wide already. Let's not also forget the post from Anonymous on page 5....Although Anonymous doesn't make it clear whether he was the one who did the interview or if he simply plagarized it from somewhere else: There were no sources cited to verify. All of these actions are on a very straight path to a particular destination...Take a guess at how closely this resembles Hitler's rise to power in Nazi Germany & Stalin's rise during the Russian Revolution. Don't take my word for it, go look it up...If fact, I insist you look it up to confirm it for yourself.

I hope that these Citizens' concerns don't have an adverse effect on loyal soldiers. I don't put any onus on you expressing your concerns, because I can understand how the "context" in a thread like this may be upsetting...In fact, I'm glad you did post, so as to remind an edgy Citizenry that there are still good people out there. In today's political & economic climate (which you should be aware of if you've been browsing ATS or even alternate news sites for some time), I hope you can understand that threads like this are bound to pop up in forums & blogs all over the internet.

One brigade is enough to "set a precedence" & "test the water," so to speak...Perhpas Waco was such a "test run," who knows for sure? If it seems that the public comes to accept it (even without liking it) you can bet your sweet bippy there will be more "home-deployments" following very rapidly.

Who put fear into Congress to pass the Patriot Act? Who also used fear-mongering when it came to the Military Commissions Act? Who is using fear right now about this "bailout bill?" Who used fear to drive the Supreme Court to allow these Constitutional Crimes to occur without any accountability?
If you ask me, the troops should start action, not training, in Washington D.C.

Yeah, okay...Laugh now. Remember that with the Patriot Act (& its subsequent revisions) & the way excessive FBI surveilance has been given "immunity," the way Bush can declare Martial Law (with PD 51) at any time he wishes (even on a whim) & the way Bush can declare anybody as an "enemy combatant" with no Judicial oversight, you can pretty much consider that Bush has already determined that the whole of the public are already terrorists. Bush has done everything just short of an actual public declaration of war on us already...
I still don't think there's any problem yet, but the best way to see a problem coming is to keep eyes open, and the best way to avoid a problem is to get the hell out of it's way. This can only be done if you see it coming first.

Not everyone who gets through bootcamp is brainwashed successfully. Yeah, I've been there, done that too. But it's true that it's what they attempt to do to recruits: They test recruits to see how far they can be "pushed" before rebelling (even verbally) against the "authority." Those who recognize the brainwashing for what it is can resist that while still getting through without any real hassle. As it is, there's always a few recruits who were pretty sick puppies before bootcamp that get even worse by the time they graduate...These are those few that completely forget their Oaths.

I haven't seen any regular troops patrolling streets around here: I live in the Capitol City of my State & I know there's military bases around here. I'll post if I notice anything unusual, but I still don't like "broadcasting" my exact location on the internet openly...As I've stated before, the best chance anyone can have in weird situations is to watch, adapt & survive.

My God! There are tanks rolling through Downtown Des Moines and troops are going door to door armed with Potato Guns asking civilians if they've seen the tooth fairy. What is going on here?!??!?

And by that, I mean what is going on with this thread? Is it paranoia? Buried fears emanating? Mass hysteria? Are you only "happy when it rains"? I can't believe I even responded to this.....

On record and on topic: I see NOTHING OUT OF ORDINARY with our troop movements. If I did, I damned sure wouldn't post it on the internet for all to see.

In my opinion: Its paranoia and alarmist crap like this that will be the downfall someday of the freedoms we enjoy. You don't have any clue how good we got it in the USA. If you doubt it, spend some time away from here and you will see. (It might help too if some of you would get out into the "real" world sometime too)...

Not trying to insult or bash anyone here. Not at all.

All I was saying was, try taking the ArmyTimes article at face value. Why does everytime there's some action involving the Government or military, there automatically (for some people, not all) must be something nefarious or covert going on?

I know this is a "conspiricy site", but not everything is a conspiricy.

Also, I've never seen any local Police around here (or even in nearby communities) in any sort of riot gear.

And to answer the original question posed by the OP, I haven't seen any unusual military activity anywhere nearby. No more than normal anyway.

Well, *hypothetically* if we must and we must....imagine an indefinate number of bombs planted in briges, tunnels, dams, and buildings in the wee hours of the night during construction all being set off at once-meanwhile, the water and food supplies poisioned, knife men going door to door in their specified neighborhoods--exterminating-no concience..
the vast national parks where people would run too having assaisins laying in wait to simply pick off the runners;

Shrug. Something like that.

I tend to RELAX when I see green-*in this case it would be much like the turtles over the cliff* but nevertheless when I see cammo my heart slows and I'm covered with an awareness that whatever happens it's going to be O.K. Whether the random soilder or the convoy, for me, it just makes sense to see them. And the trucks are my eye candy. I never think-oh they are going to round up the people. They are the people.

Sir, I find that insulting.
I have done nothing but encourage, and compliment the OP and this thread.
Maybe some of the things I've said have come off as sarcastic- But I can assure you; it's entirely in how you're reading it.
I've been told that, without using emoticons, the true intent of my message can always be up for debate.

Or at least- In question.

So, I believe you have misinterpreted my meanings.
It's okay though- Since you added me as a friend, I can find it in my heart to forgive you.

Still no reports of Canadian troop movement.
The night is calm, and quiet.
For now...

What Armytimes article did you read? The one that was posted a couple pages ago, stated that only the 1st BCT will be staying a year. And where do you see that this is as a precaution?? wtf?
They are on dwell-time. And will be doing training not patrolling the streets.

YOU dont reaD THE NEWS, ....

Apparently neither do you. Always good to do a little research instead of just accepting what someone tells you.

For those of us who are NOT USED to this, if it comes to seeing troops in street corners it will be a first for us.

I'll ask again, where did you see or get this from? Because it certainly wasn't in the armytimes article.

Now if some disaster happened, then yeah, they'll be called to help. Just as other units were after Katrina.

No need to laugh at Americans at all

I can't speak for others but I admit smiling at the guillibleness and paranoidness of some. Quite entertaining. Frightening in some respects, but entertaining nonetheless.

My questions are: Why?
What will they be here for?

Well, actually reading the article helps here. Training. And help if needed.
From the article posted earlier:

The 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team has spent 35 of the last 60 months in Iraq patrolling in full battle rattle, helping restore essential services and escorting supply convoys.

Now they’re training for the same mission — with a twist — at home.

Beginning Oct. 1 for 12 months, the 1st BCT will be under the day-to-day control of U.S. Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command, as an on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks.

And they will not be all over the country as suggested.

The command is at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colo., but the soldiers with 1st BCT, who returned in April after 15 months in Iraq, will operate out of their home post at Fort Stewart, Ga., where they’ll be able to go to school, spend time with their families and train for their new homeland mission as well as the counterinsurgency mission in the war zones.

Those of you who cannot see anything wrong with this ARE brainwashed and i feel sorryfor you.

You do realize all states have a national guard right? A national guard who does the same thing 24/7/365.
Man, I must be one of those brainwashees

Poor me...

I am very sane, thank you. No wonder we have reached the state we are in today, its minds like most of yours , indifferent and brainwashed, that have taken up to the dark depths we are in today.

Funny, I believe we're in the state we're in today because people believe anything and everything they hear or read. No one takes time to analyze or research things any more.
The "If it was on youtube, it must be true" mentality is starting to spread unfortunately. That is the one huge drawback of living in the information age. We're so overloaded with info, there isn't time to separate fact from fiction any more so people just say screw it and believe everything.

I wish that everyone would just *inhale* take a deep breath. Calm down. Save that panic button for later if needs be. Thoroughly analyze what you just read or saw. Look or read it again if you need to. What? Are you trying to just hurry up and post it on ATS before someone else does? Why?
ASK (FREAKIN') QUESTIONS! If you don't fully understand something, just ask!
The most important thing though is to realize it is perfectly OK to not believe everything you read or see or hear. "this video has millions of hits so it must be true, right?" No no no no no. Stop that!
Seriously...stop. That's one of my biggest pet peeves of the human race. How easily we can be made to believe anything. Very sad.

I work as a contractor at a military base in silicon valley. It`s not that hard to figure which base as it`s the only one.
Recently I have worked nights and I am suprised at the amount of activity thats happening down here. Large military 18 wheelers are constantly rolling thru here at night and there cargo seems to be humvee`s. Many other semi`s have there loads covered and I`m not privy to the cargo they hold.
This base mainly works on satelite technology and monitoring I cant for the life of me understand the reason for this increased activity.
