I should have been more specific in my OP to tell all of you trying to debunk the utter crap that is in the beginning and end of the video, and said to stay focused on the clip of the flying creature/craft/hoax thing.

I only wanted to add a little variety to the mix here at ATS......

So much political bs going around, Its nice to be mystified for a least a few minutes....

If you look near the edge of the ray's wing closest to the plane you'll see what appears to be an artifact, like a black area that shouldn't be there. This happens often when photoshopping, you'll cut an area around an object and if you add tolerance or feather you'll get this blurry area. It's not a big deal and can easily be erased. Instead of erasing it the video's maker seems to have decided to add this cool looking little black crop out frame thing that moves around when it's most convienent to block out where you'd get a good view of the black area.

If you have some time, could you possibly highlight some of the areas you are talking about? I am not seeing anything unusual when played at any speed.

Yes, I think the video taken as a whole, is taken out of context. As in the revers, well written disinformation will include bits of truth to make the whole "line" believable. Today, it is a fine art being able to extract the bits of truth from disinformation, and even harder to clean up those bits.

in the first shots of the manta ray it looks like the back end dips down as if it's falling back down towards the water.

there is also a shadow of the manta ray that's roughly the same size of the manta ray, which means that that shadow is bouncing off of something ( either the surface of the water or the bottom of as shallow sea.) very close.

this debunks the entire fling at 20,000 feet thing.

parts of the reflection appears just like the surface of the ocean. the rest that looks like land could be coral in shallow water. the plane is in my opinion fling very low like on approach to the azores or something.

I think this video is an optical illusion.

Look, guy. We're not going to spoon feed you. We offered you plenty of reasons why this particular footage is not real. It's a joke on people just like you.

But if you still want to have such an open mind that the wind whistles through it, please feel free to keep believing that manta rays can fly high in the sky as fast as a jet, and that this is a real video of that happening. If that's how you want to structure your reality, there's nothing we can do about it.

Except maybe one thing.

You can see land below, when you see the shadow its when "its" flying right above the clouds....

It almost looks like a giant bat or even a Pteradactyl type animal. As rays don't survive very well outside of water for any length of time I'm doubting its one of those. Really interesting either way.

Hi, Im not sure about how far or high this manta ray flew but from the images i have seen they are not much out of the water....i have seen this many times with my own eyes and i can tell you its a very natural occurance...they do it when they give birth.

In all honesty, when I saw the original youtube link you provided, it reminded me of a video I saw somewhere, showing an idea for a plane that NASA was apparently working on for a while... Upon trying to find it on youtube, I was unsuccessful, however, I've found some pictures one of their designs...

the video is quite funny, I'll fully admit

But, the original ones I saw looked more like the shape of a manta ray.
