I believe the lyrics are correct.I found them on the internet.I know it's just a song,but it sure seems to have an underlying message,don't you think?

it sounds like he was abused as a child and i would imagine that just like people who are child abusers, most were abused as children couldn't the same be true of pedophiles?

In regards to the writer putting forth his or her undeniable wisdom and asserting that Pete Townshend must be guilty due to the lyrics used in a tune named "Rough Boys" rel. 1980, written by Pete. Pete Townshend wrote this song while witnessing the growth of the British "Punk" scene in the late 70's, i.e Sex Pistols, the Clash, Damned, Generation X who stated that that they were trying to convey the look of the "New York rough gay". The song was initially titled Tough Boys but was later changed for some odd reason. If I may add my useless 2 cents Id say let's take a good close look at this man's life. When it comes to music this guy is and will always be at the top. He represents an absurdly small number of musicians who have been able to produce great, no not great, exceptional music time and time again. The legends Lennon and Mccartney are not even close to churning the number of memorable songs which Pete has. This guy has given his time,fame,and fortune to numerous children's charities numerous times and has asked for nothing in return. Try to get one of these so-called present day talentless Rock stars to help a worthwhile cause for free, GOOD F-ING LUCK. I belive that this whole "Child porn" charge which is being laid upon Pete's fame is due to some lowlife's political agenda.I mean let's face it , arrest Chester The Molester on child porn charges and it's just another creep in the pokey. But arrest Pete Townshend for the same thing and now you have unlimited media coverage for years to come. I remember seeing Pete on shows in the 70's discussing that the album/movie "TOMMY" was conceived out of Pete's discovery that he was abused by his insane grandmother when he was young. I'll now get down from my platform.

The organisation (cant remember their name but they monitor child porn on the internet) Who pete claimed he had sent e-mails informing them of what he was going to do, who originally claimed they had no such corressepondance have recently announced they have found three e-mails pete sent them before the incident, and they do tell of what he was doing.

so he's pretty much in the clear and rightly so. He has done a lot of work against this type of thing in the past.

I did not say he was guilty because of the song.I just said I personally believe that he is guilty.No need in cheap shots just because I feel your personal idol is guilty.I could very well be wrong,but the lyrics in this song are very questionable even to a complete idiot.Also don't you think that his sending emails could be something he did just in case he was caught.
Last time I looked this was a conspiracy site.If you don't like my thoughts then debunk them in a friendlier tone.Don't take shots at my wisdom.I may be wiser than you think.

I think lyrics could, perhaps, be misleading: what shall we make of "we all live in a yellow submarine"?
A good writer and excellent live performer was Pete in his heyday (equal/superior to Lennon/McCartney -it's all a matter of choice but it would be hard to convince many).
He did have a habit of tucking in childhood references (apparently at least) e.g. Pictures of Lily.
At his best earlier: 2m 35 sec. classic pop - the "concept" albums -Tommy, Quadraphenia were at times tedious and thin.
I'm glad this hasn't led to serious trouble. I wonder who shopped him?

And even if he was a paedophile, who cares? The Who rocked.

TORONTO (Billboard) - The Who's Pete Townshend will release another live album as part of his "Signature" series within the next few weeks.

Townshend has also addressed the recent controversy surrounding his arrest for accessing an illegal Web site containing child pornography. Townshend was not charged but received a caution.

The Who's double-disc set "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" will be released July 22 by SPV. "Join Together," a live album recorded on the band's original 1989 reunion tour, was re-released earlier this month by EMI.
