With the advent of Pakistani troops and tribesmen opening fire U.S. helicopters and troops, the new speculation is that Pakistan is now prepping for an October Surprise.

US steps up Pakistan raids to thwart al-Qaeda 'October surprise' plot UK Telegraph

US secret forces are intensifying their cross-border raids into Pakistani tribal areas because of fears of a high-profile al-Qaeda attack during the American election campaign, The Sunday Telegraph has learned.
Robert Gates, the defence secretary, told lawmakers last week that an estimated 30 to 40 per cent of attacks in Afghanistan were staged by fighters based in, or commanded from, Pakistan - a significant rise on previous years.

Kabul expects new Taliban onslaught before winter: minister AFP

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Taliban forces will likely stage a new wave of attacks in Afghanistan before winter sets in, the country's defense minister said as he renewed calls for a joint US-Afghan-Pakistan border force.

"I believe we have experienced the worst of this year's fighting" but "we should expect one more enemy effort before winter," Defense Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak said during a visit to the Heritage Foundation think tank in Washington.

Yeah that makes sense... terrorists attacking the US during the election so McCain can get to power and go bomb their country even more than Bush has done.

If something happens during the elections, the odds are very high its a false flag attack in my opinion. Nobody benefits more than the US from it.
