I will keep an open mind.Due to the fact when the depression hits there will be riots and a huge revolution which could cause for mass arrests. The coffins could well be for those who die from starvation.

I live fairly close (west side of Indy, near Speedway) and have a digital camera (nothing fancy by any means). I work 3rd shift so if you'd like to meet up sometime one morning, feel free to hit me up. I'd be glad to take pics that we can post here.
I've done a little research into the FEMA camps and while I do not doubt that some exist, I do not believe that Beech Grove is one of them. No better way to find out than to go there and research it (as much as possible) ourselves.
I've read that there is a restaurant very close to that location, would be a good chance to grab a bite to eat and see who comes in for lunch (such as Amtrak employees possibly).
I agree with what others have said in reference to the train cars....I believe that they are (and are still used as) auto transport. Another thing to consider is that on the south side of Avon (maybe 20 minutes by rail, due west of Beech Grove?) is a huge rail yard.....so there is a considerable amount of rail traffic in the area.

I googled auto train images and found many pictures like the above one... they seem to be the same as the ones the OP posted pics of.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before... I couldn't read all 26 pages.

Someone had to mention that and I could have guessed it would be you; 'cause it makes sense.

I think the question could be expanded....why ship them anywhere? Assuming a scenario of no food, water, or work; take a couple truckloads of food and water to any spot and they'll come to you. Keep the brain cell killing television running...make sure the Internet porn is easy to find....and *bingo!* captive citizenry.

Oh wait a minute.....that doesn't sound much different than right now.....

Jeez please don't ship these people up to northern NY there are not enough jobs to go around now.

Perhaps the area is used as extra storage for unused rail cars.
Perhaps it is close to a FEMA camp because it is an out of the way, largish space adaptable for a FEMA camp...out of the way, largish, empty space being key here.

Too many people see bogey men where there aren't many and miss the real bad people that are right under there eyes.

When all is said and done, I'm just glad that someone is willing to go out on a limb and watch for this stuff, better safe than sorry. Forewarned is forearmed, and with this world's current state of affairs, and my own personal spiritual beliefs, then add in the most historical AND controversial presidential election in history around the corner, and you have a possible cluster-youknowwhat like nobody's business. I'm ready to head for the hills on a moment's notice, got my 50 lbs of rice and 50 lbs of beans. We know where an old abandoned cabin is in no mans' land, just needs a good scrubbing and new curtains.

This should tell you how long cars like this can last if they are taken care of. I have seen cars that were built back in the early 1970s that are still in use to this day. However, I do not see autoracks as to being converted over to 'prison cars.' For something like this to be undertaken would require billions in reinvesting in the older autoracks to be able to do this. Not to mention, companies would have to round up every single autorack that is not being used by the railroads to transport automobiles. I for one do not see the railroads being used for any sort of manufactured emergency that any administration can come up with. That is, unless the government were to declare Martial Law which would require the railroads to help with moving equipment and to possibly move dissenters that have been arrested by the authorities.

The drawback about this is that raillines do not criss cross every single stretch of land in the United States like most people think. Another drawback about this is there are still parts of this country that the only way in and out is by aircraft. Even if you have a railline in a desolate part of the country, you would be required to have the correct amount of clearance in tunnels, on bridges, and around curves.

Seeing this thread pop up kind of reminds me of this old thread.

Alright, First Off Let me set get a few things clear.

I have been watching this sight for about 7 years and never planned on registering, no need. However, I live and grew up around the Amtrak facility, and have ties to the city of Beech Grove, I worked on Main St. with a family friend for 6 years.

I will go into these details further. I am very, very, politically active and am a member of several organizations that work for the preservation of what, these United States are supposed to be.

So, I had the day off and went down to Amtrak for everybody. I have several pictures and several videos I am going to post. I used my Sony Ericsson K850, 5mp Camera Phone. It also shoots high quality video. So, everyone please keep an open mind and as I said, I will get into some things later, but for now, here is some footage.

And......There You Go.

--Sidenote--

I drove down to where the OP took the pictures of the railcars. Those railcars were visible this morning from above an overpaass and I was trying to figure out how to get down to them. When I came back with my camera, they were gone from that section of the track and moved to a spot where I couldn't really reach them.

I went off the beaten path as you can see in one of the videos. At one point I was back by a school where those railcars were visible and couldn't manage to evade the property owners by the school to take pictures, as I wouldn't want someone walking around on my property.

So, Let us discuss & Much love to any and all people who have made ATS what it is today, Thank you one and all

Thanks for the videos, The_Brave.

A few questions for you:

Are you saying this Amtrak facility has been there for at least 7 years?

Do you have any reason to believe this Amtrak facility is more than what it seems?

Ah the rail cars. Of course they are for transporting cars and other vehicles. Common sense the tires are chocked and wide web belts go to the bars at the side. Its a no brainer.

Now if you want to come up with a picture to show, get in and take a pic of the bolt together cage cars that are driven up in to these. Then ya might have something, but the cage cars are all locked up.........

(Sorry bout the pics, if you click on them, you can see full size image)

This rail facility has been there a LONG TIME......& a few things that people need to know.....

This is all true and documented.

- Amtrak, since it's a railroad yard, is federally opereated, yes they do have federal agent cars, trucks whatever, but they are just security for the facility.

- The current Mayor there in Beech Grove, Mayor Joe Wright, had plans drawn up, wen to Washington to have the funds cancelled for Amtrak because he wanted to turn it into some type of retail center. The land there is very toxic and everyone has stories of old cars being dumped back there into pits of toxins to be destroyed.

- My former boss, ran as Mayor last election for the democrats to oust Mayor Wright for his stance on Amtrak. My former boss was friends with a lot of guys who worked there and they did not want to lose there jobs as it would be bad for Beech Grove, because the guys who work there, shop there and eat there, even if they don't reside in Beech Grove.

The rumors of this facility being used for martial law in America are rampant around here, and to some a running joke and to some, DEAD serious.

You can see the Razor wire, turned in, you can see the wind sox, meaning they can and plan on landings there. You can see how Large the facility is and how run down it is in the inside, they re-did the outside as a re-vitalization of the area.

It is true the Mayor moved his office from Main Street to the Police Station which is back by Amtrak several years ago.

It is true that the Masonic Lodge on Main Street has a plaque out front commemorating Ike Eisenhowers visit there.

It is true Beech Grove is full of hill-billy's. (One of the wierdest towns I have ever been in, no doubt) The people there are "unique," to say the least.

So, who knows, I go with my gut, how I was raised and what truths are self evident.

I'm not sure if they will use this facility, but I am sure that the way things are going, all my training and beliefs will be put to the test here shortly.

I am not going to say that I believe this or not. Not that anything I believe would matter anyway. The point is, I have seen these trains myself, just not over near Indy. I live in New Castle. It's a little town about 50 miles east of Indy. We have these train cars all over the south part of town. They have been there since February. The Mayor and about everyone in town has tried to get them moved. No one will listen, the owner, the owners of the tracks, the State of Indiana or the Federal Government. Why? Don't know. You can check them out for yourself and decide what is going on in my little town. I did two videos and posted them on You Tube a couple of weeks ago or so. There is also a lot of discussion over them on the local message board. One more funny thing. I had this site bookmarked but I keep getting an error message from Google. Hmmmmmm. Leave any comments you want on the videos and let me know what you think.

Thanks,

I had noticed in the fifth video that the barbed wire at the top of the fence was, in fact, turned outward.

Hey Paul, I'm ready, I'm a chef and i work 2nd shift, though most weeks I have 2 days off, most of the time I take Monday off. I don't know what your schedule is like, but Monday's are usually good for me.

Is there anyone else who would like to join me and Paul?

It is, the lady on the video was showing that there was a narrow "cattle run" area on the compound that had the barbed wire facing inward on that portion. She never claimed that was the case on the outer fence. It was on a portion of the property that she said was 3 levels deep in fencing at that point.

Amtrak and ABC News' Good Morning America Present Whistle-Stop Train Tour Broadcast This Week
September 15, 2008—You might want to catch ABC News' Good Morning America this week: it's broadcasting live from an Amtrak charter train! It's the centerpiece of a five-day Whistle-Stop Tour traveling across the Northeast and Ohio. Anchors Diane Sawyer, Robin Roberts, Chris Cuomo, Sam Champion and the ABC crew started the first show Monday going through Massachusetts aboard specially equipped Amtrak equipment and two private rail cars. Powered by two P-42 locomotives, the train has been scheduled to travel through Massachusetts Monday; New York on Tuesday; Ohio, Pennsylvania,Maryland on Wednesday; and West Virginia on Thursday. The tour concludes on Thursday inWashington, D.C. According to Amtrak, the 11-car, 874-foot-long traveling studio, operated with Amtrak Train and Engine crews with host railroad pilots and staffed by On-Board Service employees, includes two Superliner Sleeping cars, a Cross Country Café car, two Diner Lounge cars and a Transition Dorm, plus two private cars. The equipment conversion, paid for by GMA, was performed at Beech Grove and at the Albany Maintenance Facility. For more detailed information about the Whistle-Stop Tour, including a behind-the-scenes look at the months of preparation put into the project, visit
www.abcnews.go.com/gma.

So, looks like they are still doing train work there.

The female on the video also states it's an Amtrak facility, but she also states that the plan is for it to be quickly able to be transformed into the processing plant under martial law, that the 'improvements' that were done were to make the facility able to quickly transform into a very bad place under martial law. Listen to the first 2 minutes or so of the video, it states that this facility has been 'improved' such that when martial law is declared it can be quickly converted.
