Trust me i had to do a lot of editing to my draft before i posted it so i didn't get banned.
_____________________________________________________________
Listen guys, Don't just take my view on this mess or any ones. Educate yourself on what the draft bill said. what Congress is changing in it. look at who will benefit from this and who will not. and make your own decisions

My situation right now is a lot better than most. quite a few people i know have already lost that steady income, they have lost their house, the are living in their car. Hell i'm letting 3 friends use my address on job apps just so they can apply for a job. I laid of 5 people that my business employed And i'll do what ever i can to help them find a job as well.

It just really gets to me when people like the OP come in here and say something like this is a good thing.
The 4 biggest things that bother me about this bailout is

1 it will not help the people that really need the help the most and more than likely will not help the banks.

2. these banks and CEO's took the risk and are now trying to avoid accountability for their actions.

3. the $700 billion dollar price tag is low. i've seen estimates that it will cost upwards of $5 trillion and the taxpayers will be the ones that have to pay it. not the guys that are responsible for it.

4. people like the OP that see this as a good thing and not for what it is. Its a tax on the middle and lower classes, and its a fascist takeover of our country.

I think the OP is going through what might be analogous to the seven stages of Death.

He appears to be in the first of those stages: DENIAL

Consider; The economy, the Status Quo the OP has bought into, has been "diagnosed" as been seriously ill, perhaps on the the very point of death.

Heroic measures are being suggested to perhaps save the economy, but, as of yet, there is no guarantee that even the most drastic of actions will be successful.

For the sake of his reality, the only reality he has likely ever known, the OP feels he must insist that the situation is Not as dire as it appears.

I'm no expert on economics, but how anyone can think that the $700 billion bailout is a good thing. It's nothing more than criminal to expect the public to bail out these greedy and corrupt bankers. Some of these bankers have literally trillions of dollars in off shore accounts, so why aren't they using their own assets to bail themsleves out of the mess they created.

This bail out is simply benefiting the same corrupt bankers and propping up a system that is so flawed and corrupt, therefore we should allow it to totally fail. Bring on the economic collapse and the demise of the parasites who have fed on us for the vary last time.

May they all have the courage to fall on their own sword.

I agree, the Banks more than likely caused all this. But the Government let them do it. The system must be cleaned and only the institutions that will survive will be trustworthy. I believe that the government must go with its 700 Billion bale out however they should not bale out the Banks.

Considering how many wealthy elite are out there and how much the heads of these banks that will be receiving the bailout will make I say let them pay for it. Banks have how many CEOs making 20 million + a year? Start piling up their millions till it makes 700billion and if it doesnt give them a loan at 24% APR like my college loans and let them suffer. "My business is failing cause I screwed up please government give me money... Oh why yes I do get a 20million dollar pay check but that's not the issue..." Screw them in their rears we need another Roosevelt in the white house to start busting these guys up.

The wording of your thread is both infuriating and provacative. I am sure it was intended as such. We are not even close to our happy place here.
Things are bad.

If you cannot see it you must be blind.

This country, in fact most of the World is governed and financed like a den of drunken pirates.

The worst excesses of the emperors of Rome hardly exceed the pure evil we currently call our "government".

Clearly a solution is needed. Rewarding the bankers, putting on expensive band aids is not a solution, it's only a stop gap.

How anyone can defend taking actions which will give billionaires more millions in exchange for screwing us all over is beyond me. Yet you dare to call people ignorant for proposing a 7k per taxpayer incentive?

Stop the foreclosures, all of them. Require loans to be re-written with fair and equitable interest rates. Some will still not be able to pay but there are plenty of cheaper houses on the market.

Anarchy is not a solution but neither is propping up a stinking corpse. Creating more unbalanced and un checked government is clearly idiotic yet that's exactly what they want and will do.

The debate is pointless, the choices were already made and the rest is just a play to manipulate the slaves. See the major banks buying up the wounded and dying? They do this knowing the choice is already made. Buffet didn't invest his money for any reason other than he already knows he will gain a huge return thanks to the bailout.

I say keep the corpse standing a bit longer. The smell will eventually permeate the thickest of skulls and will bring even more of the slaves to awaken. The elite fail to learn the lessons of history. Yes there will always be elite and there will always be slaves but the elite who rule with corruption and greed eventually push things too far, even for the ignorant masses.

I'm so ticked off about this bailout that I almost feel like calling out of work, grabbing a bullhorn and walking to DC from my place in upstate NY. All along, I'm going to scream out for people to join me on my walk to DC and ask, no, not ask, demand that we not get robbed blind to bail out these rich ... sorry, it's hard to type the things I want to type, without getting myself into trouble.

Honestly, right now, I work off of commission and I don't know how many of you work off of commission, but the amount of taxes that come out of commission are very high. All this money I lose every month, and to think of where it's going right now. Wow!

And for SteveR to come here and belittle us. Sorry, I have prior military training, learned to live off of the land from my father as a younger man, have family with farmland. If you think I need a banking system to keep me alive, then you are sadly mistaken. I know I can survive without your false prophets. Please, bring it on!

I think this would be a good approach....let's just all take a week off work....unpaid....and head to washington..
get as many as we can to join us...our presence probably won't have any effect on them....but well, that will be a rather huge chunk taken out of their revenue if we manage to get enough to join us that we manage to stop the wheels from grinding for a week.

as far as the dire consequences if this bailout isn't done....
quit frankly, why should those who are making so little even care. they don't have IRA's...they are just struggling to survive. they will just keep struggling to survive. heck many of the people I work with don't even have bank accounts, they cash their checks at the nearest grocery store....occasionally, they ask me for rides to it on friday since they don't even have a car! and to tell ya the truth, I've known more people fitting this description than I've known who have small fortunes tied up in the stock markets or bank deposits over $100,000.
ya see....if yous wanted us to give enough of a dang to bailout your precious stock market, well, you should have done a little more to ensure most of the people in this country were getting their share of the pie! as it is....my answer to them is the same as their answer to me was when I was laying in a bed with a broken ankle going nuts trying to come up with the $2000 downpayment the doctor wanted to set it....

tough crap, you should have worked harder, learned more, blah, blah, blah....ain't my fault you're a screwup! now suffer the consequences and limp your way through the rest of your short pathetic life!
LET THEM EAT PIE!!!

" I will say it again, what is happening is communism.

The mainstreammedai (MSM) is attempting at this very moment 14:00 9/26 to divert attention from the bailout to the presidential debate. "

I couldn't agree more if I wanted to.

With ignorance as rampant as thievery we're just being taken for another ride. Some of us know it, and many more of us don't.

They probably don't even know a communist is running for president. I suppose I'll have to remind people here, to think about what the 2nd S in USSR stood for and how come we never referred to them by that name?! Would these people buy a chevy that has a cadillac emblem on it as a cadillac? I think they'd know that it was a chevy, but yet they cannot tell a socialist from a communist! Why is that? Maybe the controlled media has something to do with it, eh?

A point that has been made but can never be made enough is that the Government haad the responsibility to regulate and provide oversight to the financial markets and Wallstreet. Had the Government been doing its job these last several years they could have addressed this problem BEFORE it happened. So, they are either derelict of their fiduciary duty (aka asleep at the wheel) or this was intentional. Either way, they are aty the center of this debacle.

Secondly, I don't pretend to be a Constitutional scholar but I'm pretty sure this entire 'bailout' thing is illegal. I don't think the ge=overnment even has the authority to do it.

These bailouts reek more of Fascism than Communism to me. Private profits and public losses and other cliches. If they were going and seizing the assetts of those that were paid exorbitantly during the "boom" then you might have a point.

You are correct. This is in a very real sense an illegal (or at least unconstitutional) action.

The cyninc in me drive me to remind us that the government HAS been 'taking care' of the financial situation over the last decades... Which is to say, the unelected 'appointed' government, along with the store bought puppets we have in office.

The unappointed government has grown to the point of total bureaucratic strangulation of the constitution. And much to their chagrin, they can't kill it. Hence, we find ourselves here, as common citizens, exposing the truth piece meal, as best we can given the circumstances, lacking a press which is debilitating to democracy to say the least.

More and more I see this governmental auto-thrash tarantella as a distraction for the uninitiated. While the public has been screaming "No Bailout for the elite!" they have proceeding with borrowing in excess of 700 Billion last week alone. It's on our shoulders despite 'their concern'.

I'm not sure when exactly it happened, but the oath that politicians take upon reaching their celebrity citizen status has become a joke. I suspect the first accountability we must worry about is them. Without real public servants in office, the citizens have no immediate impact on the actions of our leaders..., I read somewhere that it wasn't supposed to be that way.

But I guess that will be called 'whining.'

so how do you save up for a house then? seriously maybe im being ignorant here and if I am then i apologise in advance but.. without a certain amount of credit most people that work every day and earn money wouldnt be able to afford housing etc , then what?? im sorry but without banks and economy the world would surely collapse right? not too sure if thats a good or bad thing, but it would certainly get very dark before it got light.

and no i dont like the idea of losing my house , car and all the things i enjoy as a luxury everyday, maybe im getting sucked into the material world we live in ..guess i need to start re-thinking!

Steve

You really make me laugh. What exactly are you a scholar of?

You instantly dismiss that there is a NWO, where's your proof of non existance? If you argue wheres mine we'll be here for days!
You believe the Bailout will help and your right,it will in the short term not in the long term. But hey thats all thats needed for the Elite to gather more control. Why else would they want to be non - accountable in any court in the world for whatever they do with the money?
Ah whats the point,go back under whatever rock you came out of. Scholar! That made my day cheers

For a scholar your OP was poorly constructed and not backed up by any facts to illustrate your point. Combined with your arrogant dispassionate and condescending tone leads me to believe that your motive to do this is less than pure and that you don't believe it yourself. It may just be an opinion but I object to this outright fear-mongering you are peddling as truth.

There is something sinister going on; quite a few scholars, politicians and experts who dare to speak up, agree on this.

It is a possibility that we may have to barter and trade for food and that a total breakdown of society as we know it could be a reality, it is my biggest fear, but giving 700 Billion to the Bankers who are sitting on their money and won't let it out of their clutches is just immoral, criminal, and wrong.

There is no accountability from any of the parties involved in this mess and a bail out is not going to solve the crisis. As someone here has so eloquently put: it is like putting a band aid on a cut jugular.

The facts are we are being lied to. Not so much by the Media but by Paulson and Bernanke and not least by Bush. They drafted this proposal a month ago but keep saying that they did not see it coming.

What could the motive for these lies possibly be? Why the perfect timing to rush something, as huge as this, through?

You really that brainwashed or you're working for the government.

Now, here is the deal. The banks caused this, so no one should bail them out at all. They caused all the problem, they should sink in the drain. The banks are causing this all over the world, because they're greedy.

Believe me, the world would be a much better place without any sort of Zionist Banks. We don't need banks. We don't need Zionists. To hell with both of them. If they don't want to go, we will send them to there.

(Off topic real fast.) When I see posts like this I can't help but get annoyed. The "Jews are behind it! It's the Jews!".....No. Even if they were, who cares what their religion is? This is flat out prejudice from what I can see.
People are blaming religions and aliens and all these other fairy tale scenarios. They might be true, I don't know and don't care. You shouldn't either. All we know for certain is that there are people, very greedy and evil people. They will do anything for more and must be stopped. You yourself are, in a way, spreading hate through these "blame religion posts".
I myself happen to be an Athiest. I don't believe in a god, thats all you can assume from that however. Don't believe in a Divine Creator. (Invisible sky daddy hee hee hee)
Okay rant over.
On this topic it's strange, at this point in time we do need the corrupt banks for the mass majority of people to survive, needless to say they need replaced. However the banks caused this out of their own greed and they still want more and more money. I don't want them to survive, but I want the people to survive, so we may need them for a little longer, even when the idea sickens me.
