STORY
San Diego - May 5 1996 CHECK NUFORC Files here:

People said there was three solid red (laser red) lights, but when I came out there was two. They were the same color and brightness moving across the sky. The lights appeared independent, as it did NOT appear part of a single craft.
They later faded away.

During the whole time, I did not see them flicker. My dad thought they would be flares if they flickered, but they didn't. THE FAA was contacted according to one report and they said they had "no comment".

I did not report this to MUFON years later as I saw that many others have too!!! I have just tried to look for the report In MUFON but I can't find anything, their search database sucks! Only NUFORC has it.

The crazy part is that they returned!!!!!!!!! maybe we can schedule their return again.

Does anyone know what species, race, or anything about these lights???

POSSIBLE EXPLANATIONS FOR OTHER SIGHTINGS
Chinese lanterns. Because some of the sightings happen at July-04 or New Years, I would determine these to be crazy Chinese lanterns or balloon like objects.

THE LIGHTS I SAW WERE NOT flickering or dull, fuzzy in appearance. They were laser red (not pulsating) with a star like intensity/brightness.

Hi DM. That's interesting. But do you have any vids/photographs of these lights? It could be helpful to sort out the wheat from the chaff!

Cheers!

I only saw them once May 1996, and that was in 1996 when my family didn't have a working camera.

There is people on NUFORC that claim to have video.

These lights are very interesting as they can't get mixed up with aircraft, satellites, shooting stars.

The lights I saw would move and pause. They would remain completely stationary and stay the same size. The all of a sudden, would disappear into the sky really quick.

There is an amazing amount of sightings of slow moving triangular objects in San Diego too! One report said that people pulled over on the free way to witness one object the size of a football field.

Someone should do the research for this one!
