Not at all - thank YOU for the very interesting threads.

I will post some of my laws when I can take some time off to think about it.
(None of those I can remember really differ from what I think now, which is interesting.)

But I can tell you this: reckless drivers would be emigrating at full speed from my kingdom...

if i had my own world,it would be as follows:

>a starting population of no more than 1000 individuals,and strict population controls.
>me set up as dictator for life.it is my world,therefore i,and only i,know how to run it.i will hold all power and be worshiped by my populace.
>a socialist nation,with free healthcare,schooling,welfare and subsidized transport.
>a minimal work,maximum leisure time policy.however,everyone would work for the greater good,an ideology indoctrinated from an early age.
>state education would be mandatory.all children belong to the state (ie-me) rather than their natural parents.
>all energy would be green.almost nothing is wasted.
>all outdoor areas would be cctv monitored at all times.inside your home would also be monitored with more cctv.
>a robotic army would carry out my rule.they would outnumber the populace by 3-1.
>guns are illegal under all circumstances.other weaponry may not be carried in public,or where it may cause harm to anyone else.random checks will occur,as well as house searches etc.
>everyone has a decent standard of living,with free high speed internet,digital tv,mobile phones,plentiful food,water etc.
>fluoride would be present in all water supplies,to keep healthy teeth.
>drugs would be illegal,apart from the state issued "happy pills",which would be mandatory.anyone not taking their happy pills regularly would be fined heavily.if this persists they face jail.
>murder,rape,assault and theft,and all variations thereupon would be punishable by public hanging.questioning my rule is also punished in this way.
>there are no other laws.civil complaints may be decided by me only.
>regular patriotic displays would take place.
>no space program,as we have more than enough space on the planet.

If I had my own World, it would be a Democratic Meritocracy, Nepotism would not be allowed, because ultimately it would destroy the whole civilsation.
There would be no Nuclear power of any kind, only Solar, Wind, Water and radiant electicity, in short, clean sustainable power only.
All major issues would require a Referendum, each 'Country' would elect their President on a Nation wide total vote basis.
My World would function only by the Consent of 'We the People'.

It could not possibly be worse than what we have now.

Interesting answers. Some good points, some I'm not so sure of but it is your world. Cheers for taking a moment to post.

On my world every woman will keep their bodies looking like Jessica Biel or lightning will strike them down. If any man hits these women lightning will strike them down. Religion will not be tolerated for I will let them talk and speak to me freely and I will talk to them face to face. If you murder someone you too will be murdered the same. Stealing will get you a lightning strike. The earth will be pollution free and anyone who invents something that will pollute it will be struck down by lightning. Slavery will get you a lightning strike. Racism will get you a lightning strike. Can you tell I like lightning.

All the land will have plants/fruit & fresh water for all to drink and eat. And finally politicians will not exist in this new world. People can & will take care of themselves, their land and reap all their rewards for their fruits of labor. If you sit back on your lazy a#s and do nothing in your community then lightning will get you a#s back up.

Sorry I forgot a name. My world will be called Jessica.

I love all the lightning! You had me laughing pretty good there. Rminded me of the beginning of Monty Pythons Quest for the Holy Grail. Something like, "Those responsible for the cheapness of these opening credits have been sacked. Those responsible for sacking those, have also been sacked". Thanks for the laugh. Good stuff.

Aim; create conditions for utopia (as usual), within scope of human nature.

Problem; Human nature. An early poster said if you didn't have rules then thugs and other groups would control everything.

A Utopian state is where everyone has the freedom to achieve their potential. For some species like insect hives, that may demand a "despot" such as a queen to achieve this state.

For our species I do not know what is the best possible Utopia for us, I would like to think it is better than the present. (Not including species modification which then allows the "nature" of the species to be redefined)

* Assuming technologically developed world (ok? sry)
- Free shelter/water/food infrastructure to provide the very very basics; shelters by state industry, water/food by large civil projects maintained by state sector.

- Conscription/Volunteer services to maintain above (temporary)

- Advanced rapid reaction law forces to maintain law (temporary) by removing animals from state control - do not allow wild animals in your home people! - place them on one of those remote arctic islands=zero cost.

- Propose computer teaching tools for the education of a new generation of infants, raising a new generation of people who would make their forebears look like monkeys in comparison. Regardless of outcome stepdown in position, if they accept the "chores" above are filled with volunteers who view it as their moral responsibility, if they don't then your stuck with laws and required jobs.

edit: forgot to add; The teaching would be morality based basically, utilising "perfect" teaching methods ie. incredibly adaptive AI teachers / tools / devices to teach morality and responsibility - at a very basic level though so as not to instill a "state indoctrination" and no direct neural stuff either.

Hi stringue. Thanks very much for the flag, too. I like that you added some very good points of ponderance. Philosophical considerations that exist at the core of our little excersize. It's a very good place to start. If you come up with any ideas you wish to add, please feel free. You seem to be having some great thoughts developing. Cheers for posting.

I would call my planet "Bob".

I would find a desert island and let them get on with it.

My world would be called mark,and wouldbe a huge gas giant.
us humans would give in a big "cloud city" with socialsim at its core ideology-healthcare,edumacation,etc.

also,nakedness is mandatory,and ritual levitation is legal.

only murder is illegal.

I like the way they do things in Star Trek, so I guess my world will be the same.

We'll be sending star ships across the galaxy and beyond, in the name of science, and finding allies(people/worlds to help) along the way

Oh yes, we'll also try to get rid and defend against the malevolent and parasitic species that prey on another sentient life. The same way, the Starfleet dealt with the Borg, the Cardassians, and the Dominion

We'll also have the Prime Directive with a twist - it can be overridden if planet's, species' survival is threatened with annihilation or deception/slavery by a more advanced species foreign to the planet or the system.
