This is a run down of what John McCain has done. I lifted this off the drudge report of all places.
What exactly is a suspended campaign? Not so straight talk from the straight talk express

McCain Arrives After Deal Announced by Leadership, Continues to Huddle with Campaign Advisors.
====
* McCain's "Straight Talk Air" landed at National Airport just after noon, and McCain's motorcade sped toward the Senate. But by then, senior Democrats and Republicans colleagues were already announcing that a deal in principle had been reached. [WaPo, 9/25/08]

Just replying to say it is corruption at its most sinister. He has no right to delay or forgo the process which our countries election process counts on for those who are not certain. This shows me that it will be Diabold that will win...

How about this for one of McCain's activities.

Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005

Amazingly no one ever talks about the reform bill that McCain co-sponsored in 2005 which might very well have lessened or averted this financial mess while at the same time go into a feeding frenzy over McCain's tricks.

Yes McCain is a political trickster, but McCain has been trying to deal with this financial crisis before it became a crisis, it is only reasonable for him to continue fighting until this day (and play politics with it at the same time).

That reform act was put forth in a Republican majority Congress, and as the date says, was introduced in 2005, and died in 2005 and wasn't even voted on. McCain tagged his name on it in 2006, 16 months after it was introduced and tabled.

As you can see here

Wow, signing onto a bill well after it has died is a rather maverick move isnt it.

According to various websites that have history on it, it was introduced, read twice, and then referred to the Banking committee in the Senate. That's the last you hear of it.

Then in 2006 McCain co-sponsors it.

Here's what he said

It's worth saying that this was still during a time that the Republican's had control, and I believe the Banking committee was chaired by a Republican.

It's also worth noting that since the 110th Congress, the Reform Act of 2005 was brought back into the fold and is still pending and up for debate, but McCain isn't on as a co-sponsor. But then how could he, he rarely shows up and has missed more votes from 2007-2008 quarters than anyone else in the Senate.

Correction: Technically the bill wasn't "dead", but it had been stalled in Banking and wasn't going to see the light of day. In 2006 McCain co-sponsored it; most likely trying to revive it and get a floor vote, but apparently that failed.
