Starred and flagged. It's funny, my parents have been completely brainwashed by Fox news, literally overnight they fell in love with Bush and his regime, have that awful propaganda channel on almost 24/7 (only switch it to watch Glen Beck on CNN!) I was a supporter of Paul from day one, my family were telling me how crazy I am, how horrible Paul is, how wrong he is on everything. Now that he's getting the tiniest little bit of airtime they're starting to say "he's right about the economy", of course they say he's wrong about everything else...

It amazes me how many of us can agree..even to disagree..on how important someon like Ron Paul is to a faidng system of checks and balances. It's not like he and Kucinich and a few others aren't there speaking the truth on a dialy basis. It's up to the sheeple to rise above it and actually beign to know and understand instead of "think" or share a shallow opinion. The problem is people do not want to place a premium, as the Founders intended, on civic virtue and the pursuit of knowledge.

For this reason I applied as an intern for Ron Paul's congressional office, and I embark on that scenario soon. I truly feel at home here on ATS, though I can't get on as much as I like. Many of you display such strong principle over passion. It really sucks for some of us sometimes as knowledge and principles can affect marriage, friendships, etc...like many of you have already pointed out. Just stay strong and I'll check in as often as possible and tell you how the inner workings...are.

It is quite an amusing thought that this 'bailout' appears to mean:

Mr McHomeowner gets to continue paying his mortgage like a good little sheep,

Mr Wallstreet gets unchained and freed to start loaning more magic money to more eager sheep for a bigger McHouse to go with the bigger McCar...

Mr Taxpayer McHomeowner gets to foot the bill for this happy little bottomless circle of occultish financial wickedness through [indirectly, of course - unless the govt. is finally convinced that the dumbing down of the masses has taken root deeply enough] higher taxes.

Sooper.

I would move to Canada, but they'd probably arrest me for being a Christian who, shock horror, actually believes in Christ and the bible!

Maybe I should move back to England [Hi Mum!], but I'm a Christian who still believes in the fundamentals of the faith, not a Fundamentalist Muslim. Strike Europe off of the list....

It's strange how all this nonsense appears to have been foreseen by the Author of the bible and by people who actually read [including Mr. Paul, I should add] said book properly!

BTW, it's been YEARS since I've posted at ATS! Welcome back, me!

illimey.

Ron Paul is right about this, taking the 700 million will hurt us down the long road, and it means more taxes of course, so the bankers can get richer.

I know what you mean, but that is an example of what the Minister of Propaganda said in Nazi German; "if you repeat a lie enough, it will then become the truth." The media is owned by just eight families in five corporations. Control of the media is tantamount to control of a nation.

If I can't get my partner to start seriously thinking of extreme dangers we face as an obvious selection choice for mass-murder, then, I will be forced to leave him behind.

Too bad that the majority of America does not even care about what is really going on. My wife told me Ron Paul is a "nut job" the other day because that is what she heard from the MSM. She is too set in her ways to even listen what I have to say. I am contemplating divorce at this very moment.

I have not found anyone, in person, that has a clue what is going on. I get called paranoid for believing RP. How are we going to stop what is going on when the sheep don't care?

OMG, I'm going though the same thing. I post on here all the time about sheepeople, and how APATHY will be the death of America, And yet I'm living with it everyday.

Education and persistence...play some of the wealth of RP videos on youtube when your wife is around..make her watch. Always works for me at work, I play his interviews and people are like; 'wow, this guy really knows what he is talking about, why isn't he running for president'.

The worst thing you can do to spread apathy is to make people feel like there is nothing we can do...we always have a choice, we can do nothing or we can do something. Doesn't mean we get it all done at once tho.

Keep the faith!!

I show my girl vids, all kinds of them she always get preoccupied with something else or complains thats the subject is just to boring. She just wants to live her life and have fun!

The more I learn about Dr. Paul the less I like him. It is as if he wants to see us fail. Almost like if we do Ok, he will be wrong. I think people are making too much of his "wisdom" and I do not trust him any more than I trust the clowns in power. He is a decent man, but he seems angry at everything. Jeesh anough already, I cant wait until this election crap is over and these guys slide back into their holes.

Regardless of whether you think he's just some gloom and doomer, has been wrong on anything he's been trying to warn us about? Has he had any incredibly outlandish things to say that have no bearing in reality?

So I guess if he was one of those people who kept trying to tell us how wonderful the economy was doing just a few months ago you would like him?

Only if he has something positive to say, even if it's a lie, would you respect him?

He's not even running for president. He's going to keep sounding off well after the election because that fact remains that our freedoms and our constitution are in SERIOUS jeopardy from these people you dare to lump him together with. I thank God for politicians like Ron Paul because he's not stroking our hair singing us a lullaby trying to get us to go to sleep and ignore the monster in the closet.

He's trying to shake us awake and stare that monster in the face and tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine.

But if you'd rather have it the other way...I guess that's your prerogative.

Ron Paul and several others have been warning of this for years now and now it has come to pass. The economy is falling apart and the vast majority of people in this nation can't be bothered with it since it will cut into thier TV and other crap.

Read the Federalist Papers and the U.S. Constitution. It's boring at times...but it is what will make us free and keep us free. Go Ron Paul!

Hey I have no idea how the economy works but what is the point of Fort Knox? Isn't it there to help out when this sort of crap happens? If we arn't on a gold standard then why do we stockpile it and defend it with 10,000 people? I'm just surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet and sorry if those were stupid questions i never payed attention in economics =/

The amount of gold that is supposedly in Fort Knox would equate to about $129 billion. Enough to cover what it cost to bail out Fannie and almost 1/3 of Freddie. It's sad, but $129 is beans in regards to the current situation. Plus, do you think those at the top would use what little REAL money we have to try and save the economy? I don't think so.

Even so, as Ron Paul has caimed, Fort Knox hasn't even had a proper audit since the late 50's or so. So, who knows how much gold, if any, is really there anyway?

Edit: By the way, not a stupid question. You'd think that would be the purpose of a trust... you know to secure some of the country's wealth. Though I have a hunch its been hijacked to secure the wealth of a few when everything goes bust.

Wake up people, take back your country from these wall street fat cats and greedy lobbyists!!
