Just received an email from Ron Paul and this man is a genius.
I have to share with those of you who do not receive his updates.
Wednesday, September 24, 2008
Dear Friends,
Whenever a Great Bipartisan Consensus is announced, and a compliant media assures everyone that the wondrous actions of our wise leaders are being
taken for our own good, you can know with absolute certainty that disaster is about to strike.
The events of the past week are no exception.
The bailout package that is about to be rammed down Congress' throat is not just economically foolish. It is downright sinister. It makes a mockery
of our Constitution, which our leaders should never again bother pretending is still in effect. It promises the American people a never-ending
nightmare of ever-greater debt liabilities they will have to shoulder. Two weeks ago, financial analyst Jim Rogers said the bailout of Fannie Mae and
Freddie Mac made America more communist than China! "This is welfare for the rich," he said. "This is socialism for the rich. It's bailing out
the financiers, the banks, the Wall Streeters."
That describes the current bailout package to a T. And we're being told it's unavoidable.
The claim that the market caused all this is so staggeringly foolish that only politicians and the media could pretend to believe it. But that has
become the conventional wisdom, with the desired result that those responsible for the credit bubble and its predictable consequences - predictable,
that is, to those who understand sound, Austrian economics - are being let off the hook. The Federal Reserve System is actually positioning itself as
the savior, rather than the culprit, in this mess!
• The Treasury Secretary is authorized to purchase up to $700 billion in mortgage-related assets at any one time. That means $700 billion is
only the very beginning of what will hit us.
• Financial institutions are "designated as financial agents of the Government." This is the New Deal to end all New Deals.
• Then there's this: "Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion,
and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency." Translation: the Secretary can buy up whatever junk debt he wants to,
burden the American people with it, and be subject to no one in the process.
There goes your country.
Even some so-called free-market economists are calling all this "sadly necessary." Sad, yes. Necessary? Don't make me laugh.
Our one-party system is complicit in yet another crime against the American people. The two major party candidates for president themselves initially
indicated their strong support for bailouts of this kind - another example of the big choice we're supposedly presented with this November: yes or
yes. Now, with a backlash brewing, they're not quite sure what their views are. A sad display, really.
Although the present bailout package is almost certainly not the end of the political atrocities we'll witness in connection with the crisis, time is
short. Congress may vote as soon as tomorrow. With a Rasmussen poll finding support for the bailout at an anemic seven percent, some members of
Congress are afraid to vote for it. Call them! Let them hear from you! Tell them you will never vote for anyone who supports this atrocity.
The issue boils down to this: do we care about freedom? Do we care about responsibility and accountability? Do we care that our government and media
have been bought and paid for? Do we care that average Americans are about to be looted in order to subsidize the fattest of cats on Wall Street and
in government? Do we care?
When the chips are down, will we stand up and fight, even if it means standing up against every stripe of fashionable opinion in politics and the
media?
Times like these have a way of telling us what kind of a people we are, and what kind of country we shall be.
In liberty,
Ron Paul

It is amazing to see such honesty from a politician.
I feel like he actually cares about America and it's people.
He is not trying to sell us anything, he is not trying to win anything, he is only telling us the truth no matter how hard it hurts.
What a breath of fresh air! Gives me a little bit of hope at a time of great bleakness.

Ron Paul is incredibly intelligent and has a track record of almost always being right. He is one of the best people in the US when it comes to
knowing about economics. The guy is also very honest and has real integrity.
So no wonder he is no success in America. Its not the peoples fault though, its the media and the people behind it that make damn sure he is not shown
much to the public.

It's tragic. He was warning about the economy at the very beginning of the campaigns. And the MSM and other candidates were laughing at him. IU
remember Gulliani mocking him on the economy. The only guy with a clue was drummed out of the race. What a system. We're screwed.

Everyone needs to read this.
Even if you have no other comment except "I agree" type it out so we can keep this hot so it doesn't get buried.
Just make sure it is a little wordier than one sentence, don't want anyone to get a warning.

Is it possible that Ron Paul join in a discussion here? That would be super.
Or is that above him... I just get tired of the elite, people need to humble themselves a bit.

I'm not really a suporter of Ron Paul, I disagree with some of this thinking BUT.
I had to laugh when i saw a video today of Bill O'Reilly who was screaming about how no one had warned us, the American People, about this coming
disaster. And that people had known, but no one spoke up loudly enough.
Someone DID speak up. Just networks like Fox didn't want to listen to Ron Paul.

You don't have to support Ron Paul to realize he speaks the truth about our economy and grasp the fact that it was buried.
Oreily is just a complete loon.

Why is Bill O'Reilly pretending to care about the American People all of a sudden? Ratings dropping or something?
Its not possible to be any more annoying and disgusting than Bill. Ok, maybe with the exception for George Bush.

Ron is truly amazing and has no fear about standing up for what is right. Unlike the rest of the muppets he actually cares about the people. If Ron
was sitting in the White House, the future would certainly be bright for the American people and quite frankly the rest of the World would breathe a
sigh of relief. Unfortunately people are too blinded by the media to see that. Nice work OP continue the fight!

I don't agree with Paul on many issues but for years he has been saying America is fast approaching the status of a police state and I'm beginning
to think he's been right all along. The problem with Paul is he doesn't know how to fire up the masses, and half of his supporters scare people off.

Hey.. Ron Paul should win the 10,000,000 Google Prize by suggesting a Google Government, He need to hold a press conference and perhaps change
sentiment . Americans could perhaps respect him for doing so.

There is almost nothing more to add.
We have lost our government. They belong to the money lenders.
Our politico's only fear is their cushy celebrity status. It's their primary motivation to do as they are told by their constituents. And of
course this only applies to the 'little guys' who won't benefit from ballot box shenanigans.
All in all, they don't count for much when they are 'whipped' by the party to 'vote as they are told' by the political machine.
Corporate America..... Do we need a new flag? A new anthem?
