A 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with a reported stabbing onboard a Greyhound bus in rural Ontario Sunday, a chilling reminder of the murder of a Winnipeg man on another bus two months ago.

Saw that on the news last night.

Didn't appear to be a motive in this case either.

At least this guy survived the attack.

I dont understand either, the only thing I can think of is that everyone else was in shock and simply couldent react. I mean that's what I would like to think but its also pretty likely that some people dident care, dident want to bother, etc.

Civility seems to have vanished ...

This is disturbing, I read the other article about the stabbing then the victim being beheaded. What ever is going on, Some sort of pattern is developing here which is worrying.

This bus was headed to Winnipeg too, same as one in the last incident. This guy was apparently put on the bus by police as part of some program they have to help hitchhikers/vagrants/mentally ill people who can't get out of town. Maybe they will re think that now?

It certainly takes a mentally ill person to do such a thing, regardless of whether or not they are classified as such.

It's unfortunate a second person has attempted such an act... luckily he was stopped before any further damage could be done.

Imagine the damage if Canada allowed guns to be carried... there simply would be no stopping the act until at least 2 people were dead.

Luckily it was stopped after a couple of stab wounds.


Unfortunately, the only way to stop this would be to tread on peoples freedoms while entering public transit. Something Canadians will not allow to happen... regardless of damages done.

Which is good for freedom... but bad for a few people who might end up subject to crazy people in the end.

Ya I really don't see what could be done to stop incidents like this short of like you said treading on peoples freedoms. I'm kind of torn on the subject, while I don't have anything to hide and thus wouldn't be worried about being searched before getting on a bus, I certainly don't think I would like it.
