Hey America, you're *SNIP*! That's right, you're *SNIP* with a capital *SNIP*. I don't know what else to say to you at this point besides "I'm sorry" or "my condolences". I think America has offially jumped the shark over the weekend.

There have been so many catastrophes leading up to this event with complicity at every level, from outright disregard for the welfare of fellow men at the top, to pathetic, disgusting willful ignorance at the bottom. We were all somehow involved in this conspiracy.

But did we really have a chance anyway? To even begin to fight the system now firmly in place we'd have to begin at around age 5 and be on constant vigil, scanning for BS and lies, reading between the lines, researching, learning, protesting, writing your representatives, running for office...all while trying to get a job, pay the bills, and if you're lucky start a family. It was an impossible task all along. And because of this, we all just did what we thought we could in our spare time and hoped for the best. It's too tiring to fight all the time. Hell, sometimes it's too tiring just reading ATS and processing what we're really dealing with.

This November America may vote in the biggest loser to date. Whether Barack Obama or John McCain becomes the President, this will be true and the country will only further degenerate. Neither of these candidates is good for America. Neither of these candidates is good for you! I don't want this to become a Ron Paul lovefest so I will say only this. Right now it is an act of faith to believe America will be great again. In the same vein, it is an act of faith to believe that Ron Paul will become President if you cast your vote for him. If you love America, you must have faith that she will rise from the ashes of bad policies and be all that she was destined to be, and you must vote for a candidate that will not piss on America to put the flames out, REGARDLESS of whether or not you believe that candidate will win. Act and have faith.

I never thought I would have to say this but I'm glad I don't live in America anymore. I think of my friends and family still there with the same worry as if they lived in [insert volatile country here]. They used to poke fun at me for leaving, joking that I was a traitor. Now they regard my expat status with flat out envy. I feel like I've watched the setting of my childhood being burned down before my eyes. Please, America, help pick up the pieces, take up your own slack, and let's build it again.

The US Government has become Skynet, artificial intelligence become sentient. It exists only for its own preservation and betterment, and could not give a damn about yours. Vote for a candidate that will dismantle this system from within (if he lives to be able) or only two choices will remain:

Tear down the citadel with your bare hands or continue on this steady decline until your would-be grandchildren are starving and wearing rags, their faces on Christian Children's Fund commercials around the world.

It is the most important choice you will ever make and the most important thing you will ever do.

Yes, we have been *SNIP* for a long time now. Like you say,

There have been so many catastrophes leading up to this event with complicity at every level, from outright disregard for the welfare of fellow men at the top, to pathetic, disgusting willful ignorance at the bottom. We were all somehow involved in this conspiracy.

Considering all of that, don't you think that this is all part of some big plan or scheme? The deck is stacked against us and has been for a long... long time. We are merely pawns and there is no way that someone like Ron Paul could ever win. The system won't allow it. I firmly believe that even if everyone voted for him, something would prevent him from ever being president. Fortunately for him though, the easiest option was used to silence him (media black out) and no drastic measures had to be taken.

Well presented.

Very much the same sentiment that inspired my thread: I Abstain In 2008: The Second American Revolution -- and I humbly submit that such action may be the only viable option available to us.

I respectfully disagree. Abstaining solves nothing. As an act of rebellion or protest it is empty and will be ignored. Those in control wouldn't even notice.

As an alternative, I believe everyone should vote. People should vote in overwhelming numbers. Break records everywhere. And everyone that votes should systematically vote against EVERY incumbent at every level. Every one. Vote them out. THAT, my friend, will be noticed. That will send a message. That cannot be ignored.

Yeah, I do believe that the odds are so stacked against us ever being able to sift through the muck to really know what's going on that, like I said, you'd have to start at 5 years old just to make sense of it all.

I don't believe in coincidence anyway and I think life is like a conspiracy terrine. It's practically impossible to make sense of, which is why I say have faith.

Faith is really the only thing left that we do have, IMO.

While I know there will be a lot of commentary regarding what can and can't be done to affect this situation; personally I think we have reached a point where the line between the 'club members' and the underclasses must be clearly drawn.

In a corporate fascist state, or one that approaches the corporate as the supreme citizen; those who are the 'grist for the mill' like labor, front line management, and daily administrators, are not only expendable, but have a 'shelf-life' due to the increasing cost to payroll due to seniority. Soon the only real comfort the corporation offer will be to their owners.

The only tool we have remaining is a general national strike - but there would be no purpose in such an undertaking were it not clear that the purpose was to eliminate the corporate presence in the government 'of the people'.

The political system in place works against that goal, because it is corporate.

How can we speak as one people when we are kept apart by the very tool that was supposed to unite us?

*SNIP* - I think is an understatement. We are being harvested and consumed by the market manipulators and money lenders. And their King is free from prosecution. His soldiers operate with no consequence to their decisions, and our leaders appeal to him as if his subjects.

While I never condone such an action, I believe that every single representative in congress and the senate (as well as the judiciary) have just cause to commit suicide; the media will recast the truth (as it is designed to do) but their inability to feel the shame and disgrace of their behavior is indicative of the 'connection' they have between themselves and their so-called 'constituents'. It doesn't exist.

as much as i'm for a peaceful protest, i really don't think any "official" representative for the "United States Corporation" will respect one. Ron Paul, Jesse Ventura, and Dennis Kucinich may be the exceptions... what can we do if we can't successfully protest peacefully?

also, i'm hearing more and more about how Obama, and this country in general, are moving towards Socialism - Socialism is the "transitional stage between Capitalism and Communism"!

they actually think we won't notice if we're all of a sudden a Communist country?! ...talk about blind patriotism... now i'm for certain that everything public with our government is just a charade - a front for their bigger, sinister plans.

The old U.S. jumped the shark when the North defeated the South in the Civil War. It was at that point that we became a "Nation." Once that line was crossed, the Union (read government) was a self defending, self sustaining entity which was able to enforce its will on the States. Since then, what we have seen has been an incremental increase in the power of the national government.

One could argue that this was necessary. Certainly, in the twentieth century and beyond, international Darwinism has dictated that the strongest of nations will survive and prosper, and perhaps a weaker confederation of States would have fallen to a foreign power already. Within that context, our kinder, gentler dictatorship could indeed be considered preferable to one much more brutal, one which originates on a foreign shore.

The question I believe Americans should ask is, what are we doing to positively affect this country? We are still a free people (more or less), and we still have political voices, so will we simply accept what is dictated to us or demand better results?

I don't feel that it's only America, but that's what this thread is about. In other words, it's official. Being effed doesn't hit other nations and pass over the US like we've assumed for so long.

I absolutely realize that when the US goes down, it's taking down lots of others with its flaming tentacles. But for now, it's hard to take in the sheer scope of what's going on when you're worried if there will be gas to put in your car or if you will be getting a paycheck.

nobody is *SNIP*. What we as a specie are experiencing are growing pains. If one of us is effed, then all of us is, were all in the same boat here. To take sides, is to deny our growth and evolution. How could we be effed? Does not everything that is being done, define what people do not want in their lives? Perhaps we need to see and experience it a certain number of times in order to be able to transmute such experiences. As a specie, weve been trying to shake such evil things that have been the workings of the past and yet seems we are still plagued by them, but I believe like stated, it takes a few times for it to properly sink in. Like an addict trying to quit, they try before they do. We have been down this road before, history repeating, but I dont know if we have been down this road before with the internet there to allow many many more to see and understand what is happening on a grand scale. I think thats what its going to take for us to finally be able to remove these old band-aids of perception.
Lets just remember that if societies, governments, cities, countries or vanities fail, it does not have to mean that humanity fails. Progress lay in our compassion for one another, not in the empires we build and hold as progression or "civilization" Keep in mind the metaphor of the phoenix. We need this.

Despite being *SNIP* as it was put, I would like to recognize that this period of time we are witnessing is only one chapter in our annals of history. As a country we have seen our birth, our independence, our internal struggles and our growth. I would not classify what we are going through as the death throws of our society. The globalization of this nation’s and the world’s economy is only a nature progression as our society as a whole evolves with technology. I think the real issue is the amount of federal governmental control verses state rights. Whether you are a Dem., a Rep., an Ind. or unaffiliated, I think the majority of the people in the US believe in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. This is the frame work in which our founding fathers created this nation.
For the record, I am a register Democrat. However, that does not mean I toe the party line and follow aimlessly.

I do believe that there is too much government spending. I believe that there needs to be better regulation of our industries to stop corruption, and remember I said better not more.

I also believe that the executive branch has exceeded their role and currently has too much power. That goes for the current administration and any future administration, McCain, Obama or any one else.

As a country we need to look at our sovereignty and what steps we want to preserve this and to what extent.

The more people listen to what is being said and not said, and what is being done and not done, they should have a sense of what is going on.
I enjoy this site because it brings people together to discuss their different view points. It also provides a variety of sources that are not shown in the main stream.
This is what our country is founded on. We, as a country, as individual citizens, should not become complacent with the status quo. We should expect more out of our leaders and more out of ourselves. The change in our society for the better begins with an individual.

Well...I'm still trying to understand why some people still consider voting the way to go. Your votes haven't counted for a long time. They decide who runs the show...not you. In fact, most people forget that the Government is supposed to be working for the people, not the other way around. Demand you rights damnit. I'm not talking law here...I couldn't give 2 hoots about the law, and neither do they. The laws are being changed...soon, your regard for the law will result in the loss of your freedom. Fight for your rights as a human being on this planet. That's what you fight for. Your human rights.

The time for voting has come and gone...the time for fighting is now. How you fight is another story all together. Who's ready to fight is another book that's yet to be written.

I'm not American, nor do I live in America, but I'm not blind. What urks me the most about these things is "America's going to the dogs." Please, just stop with that nonsense. Stop looking at it like "America this, and America that." That perspective is partly the reason why we have this problem.

Hint: The NWO stands for New World Order. Keep thinking about America and forget the rest of your planet; the one planet we all occupy. Their goal is not to run America people, it is to run the world. And if they succeed...America and all other countries that make up this planet will feel the wrath of the powerful and vile.

To the OP, whatever country you're in...you're only safe for a time. That's it...only a time. Their target is not America...it is this entire planet. So, please, live comfortably and feel safe, thinking you're not affected. Wake up people. The fight is no longer with or about America...it is with all of us. EVERYONE will feel it eventually. That means you in America, and you in Finland. That means you in Djibouti, and you in Dubai, that means you in Sri Lanka and you in Amsterdam.

Stop dividing the chaos. It will affect us all. It will affect our Earth.

It's an old Poli Sci 101 axiom that... institutions once founded upon sound principles and ideals eventually deteriorate into self serving bureaucracies whose only purpose is to maintain the survival of the bureaucracy.
In other words... time to begin anew.
I think that is what Jesus said to the Hebrews?

Well, look at Russia. It had a total collapse and look at it now, it is on track to becoming the super-power that it once was. When/if America fails, that will not be the end. 2 possibilities will come from it.

1: Americans will revolt, establish a newer, purer form of government where the people actually have control of it.

2: A strong dictator will emerge and grab the bull by the horns and steer the nation as he sees fit. If this happens, bye-bye civil liberties and the constitution.

I truly hope for option number one.

I know that not in my lifetime would an independent or liberatarian ever even come close to being elected, but I dont think its america..
EVERYTHING that is wrong with this country is because of the "MEDIA" know one can think for them selves the media tells us what to think ,say , vote, eat, mainstream media is "THE MAN".

Excellent thoughts, sc!
But I feel you are being a trifle simplistic.

The President of the US of A is not the most powerful person in the world. He is a facade, a puppet on a string, controlled by the secret shadow government under the total control of the Bilderbergs (or the Illuminati) and the neo cons who rule the roost. The President is just a spokesman, the scapegoat who takes all the flak and masks their real intentions.

So whoever will be on that hot seat, would be forced to do the bidding of this secret society/group. Remember what happened to Kennedy? Or the presidents who wanted disclosure? They were told to shut the heck up! And they did! And let's not go into the details of who derailed the economic system, since we already know it.

Whatever, here's to the next prez of the US of A!!

Cheers!

There is a solution that would stay true to the America I love and the constitution. Spread these two videos that appear in this link please! The man Karl Denninger understands these issues like none other and is foremost in sharing with the public the true intentions of the FED.

www.fedupusa.org... is where the videos are linked from along with several other great links.

The hard links for the two videos themselves are:

the inherent problem:
www.youtube.com...

the solution:
www.youtube.com...

The white paper referenced:
www.denninger.net...

And people please act quickly! Call your representatives and so forth. They are trying to push the bailout through as quickly as they can, and it seriously must be stopped. Spread Karl's video and his paper.
