So with this new bailout plan and everything in a big mess, what will the stock market do tomorrow? Go up, or drop? Anyone know?

I am sure tomorrow will show us clearly what will happen if we wait 24 hours ......
I bet you would like to start a PREDICTION thread on what folks think may or may not happen, am I wrong?
Enjoy.......

Actually I am just curious as to whether or not I should even pay attention to the stock market tomorrow. I like to follow it while it crashes
Basically, should I get up early and follow it, or sleep all day is my question

Yes, we are in a mess. And it's anybody's guess about what will happen tomorrow.
I'm going to place my bet on the market going up tomorrow.

If people really understood what the bailout really means, it would be way down. But, since people think that this bailout is the answer.. it will
probably be up. I have it on all day anyway so.. I guess we will find out.

Well, if we have anyone in Europe / Asia / Australia we can probably get a good guess depending on how the overseas markets trend even before the Dow
opens here in the US.

It will be mixed. Financial stocks like Goldman, and Morgan, as well as some regular commercial banks holding MBS are gonna get a free-ride up, due
to the taxpayer-bail out.
That doesn't mean that things are peachy, the construction sector is being decimated, new construction has virtually halted, earnings are down,
unemployment is going up, homes have to still come down in prices as well as the rate of foreclosure going up, expect the dollar to still go down,
inflation is on the rise.
Friends, what happens tomorrow actually means very little, this is a recession, we are only seeing the beginning stages.

Why would you want to sleep all day tomorrow? Do you go to school or do you have a job?
I believe we'll know what the market is going to do rather early in the day.
That is unless we have another earth shaking event to happen over night or tomorrow.

The stock market has lost all rationality. It goes up when it should go down, down when it should go up, it swings with greater force when it does
both.
I do not think the markets have any logic to them anymore.

Does anyone know a lot about the bailout??? I have a question, they said that they funded $700 billion for the mortgages and what not. But, it seems
that each one is costing damn near 100 billion per bailout. So does that mean that they will only be able to bail out 10 companies tops?? If so, then
we are going to see a major melt down when the 700 billion is all spent up... Or is it unlimited funding?? I can't see how it would be unlimited
considering our national debt, but I'm just curious..
Good question by the way. I have been wondering what Monday will bring all weekend.

Since the ban on short selling is now in effect (i think it is also in the US), speculation will be the main reason for big dropping of share prices.
Hopefully the main instigators have bought up enough banks for the time being and will let the dust clear for a while.

ITA, if people had the slightest clue, they'd be shaking in the boots. But since the majority is totally clueless and think this bailout, if they
have even heard about it, will right everything, I'm betting it goes up too.
I am hoping it goes up and continues to stay up for a while. Only because it will give us a little more time to get prepared for the fallout.

I agree with you. I need some more time to get up canned foods and what not. I know the dollar will be worth nothing, so I'm relying on food as a
source of trade, worse case scenario. My husband on the other hand.. He feels like he needs an artillery for protection. I like to believe that if
this really does get that bad that Americans will be willing to go back to the barter system and try to help each other out as much as possible. He
has no faith in humanity anymore.. Maybe I'm a sucker. Who knows.

Are people honestly getting that worried over there?? Are many people doing these things or are you being overly pessimistic?

No, I am hoping things will clear up and go back to normal. If not, I will turn to food as a source. My husband on the other hand, I think the word
you are looking for is over paranoid. Big time.

Unfortunately, most sheep in this country believe the health and direction of the economy can be judged by the direction of the stock market. It is
like walking into a full casino and believing that the economy is great because there are no open slot machine seats........
The institutional investors make money off of the pain and suffering of the average american citizen.
