US planted explosives that destroyed Marriot Hotel Islamabad
The daily Jang, dated September 21, 2008, the leading Urdu Newspaper of Pakistan that on the night of Wednesday, September 17, 2008, a white truck
from US Embassy in Islamabad carried steel boxes into the hotel. These boxes were neither searched nor subjected to scanning on entry. While the boxes
were being carried to the 4th and 5th floor of the building the guests, some were members of Pakistan Parliament, present there objected strongly
about the activity and stated that this was detrimental to the security of the hotel. They also talked about discussing the event in the parliament,
and never again coming to the hotel as it was insecure after such an event.
Last night, September 20, 2008, there was a terrorist attack on the hotel. The 4th and 5th floor of the building caught fire, later engulfing the
whole of it. Reported more than 60 dead and hundreds injured.
Is the story true?
Were explosives planted there intentionally?

There is a lot of strange things about this bombing. Check out the thread about the giant crater outside the hotel.

Also same story in The News, a member of Jang Group.
Witnessed by many, including a PPP MNA and his friends, a US embassy truckload of steel boxes was unloaded and shifted inside the Marriott Hotel
on the same night when Admiral Mike Mullen met Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and others in Islamabad. Both the main gates (the entrance and the
exit) of the hotel were closed while no one except the US Marines were either allowed to go near the truck or get the steel boxes unloaded or shift
them inside the hotel. These steel boxes were not passed through the scanners installed at the entrance of the hotel lobby and were reportedly shifted
to the fourth and fifth floors of the Marriott.

A wounded hotel security official said a truck had been stopped at the hotel's security barrier and two small explosions had gone off minutes
before the main blast.
Clemens Steinkanp, a German who was slightly wounded, said hotel security men had warned guests to move to the back of the building shortly
before the bomb went off.
"Nothing happened for five minutes ... but then there was a huge blast," he said.

There was more things going on than the truck bomb.

Background security info. and other attacks:
A small blast in the lobby in October 2004 killed one person, and while the government publicly blamed an electrical circuit, security officials
privately admitted it was a bomb hidden in a laptop.
A suicide bomber then blew himself up just outside the hotel in January 2007, killing a security guard who stopped him from ducking into a side
entrance leading towards the Marriott's basement nightclub.
The Marriott made a huge effort to boost security after the latter attack.
It erected massive metal and concrete vehicle barriers outside the hotel and increased checking on all cars entering the compound. The lobby was also
extended to include extra body scanners and X-ray machines for bags.

They were planted but not by the United States.
Pakistan can't control it's own radicals and it's own fundamentalists.
They are blaming the USA so that people in Pakistan won't look at
their own mess of a country.
It's pretty basic psychology. Very see through.

I first thought oh the Taliban hitting the Marriott again like they have 20 times before.
But that crater is not normal.
Either the truck bomb got messed up and exploded downward instead of towards the hotel or that was a bomb dropped from a plane.

Im just curious who else got to pass the security?
Your basic psychology seems to prevent you from seeing the obvious suspect. If it would have been Al Queda who had been transporting metal boxes
inside the hotel while it was closed, would you have figured they could have nothing to do with it then too?

Over there payoffs and bribes can buy just about anyone.
Terrorist infiltrators also loooooooove to get hired in key positions as well.
Your basic psychology seems to prevent you from seeing the obvious suspect.
Or .. YOUR basic theory prevents YOU from seeing the obvious suspect -
that being typical radical fundamentalist Islamic terrorists hitting a
western target in Pakistan and then the Pakitstani government shamefaced
pushing the rumor that it was an American hit job in order to cover it's
own shame at ineptitude.

They will examine scene and find what explosives were used to try and find who it was.
Because no one as yet has claimed responsibility.
Usually the first thing the Taliban or Al Queda does is send a letter or something claiming victory. But nothing.

Or Santa Claus dropped the bomb down the Chimney.
I guess we have to agree to disagree on this one.

Sorry... no can do read Urdu. If this story is accurate then what an impressive lot are those "members of Pakistan Parliament" who "objected
strongly" to US personnel carrying in "steel boxes". I sure hope they listened to their own warnings and left before the bomb exploded. Those are
the kind of people who I would like to meet... I'm sick of lemmings.

It seems that way, it's almost like they're making it too easy. Would i be right in saying that as a result of the bomb, it is now easier for US
Military to operate in Packistan unquestioned. Didn't George Bush just release a statement saying they would help Packistan fight the terrorists? The
whole thing stinks.
I hope word spreads fast amongst the people and something can be done to stop things reaching the level everyone fears.

Allthough all the facts are not known yet, it is more than likely yet another terrorist attack carried out by Muslim extremists.
And what happens?
Yet again we get the usual attempts to shift blame onto the US, (insert here UK, Israel, Spain etc), rather than Mulims accepting responsibility
themselves.

Thats because there is nothing pointing towards Muslim extremists in this case, while there seems to be lots of strange things going on with the US
soldiers and their metal boxes being carried into the building. Not to mention the crater.
I figured this was a ordinary bombing to start with myself, but there seems to be many things contradicting it in my opinion.
Of course you are free to think its muslim terrorists if you like. To me, it seems a bit too easy.

Video of the explosive-laden truck that was used in the bombing at the Islamabad Marriott hotel has emerged.
The Pakistan government says the blast was caused by a six-wheeler dumper truck filled with high quality explosives mixed with an accelerant to fan
the flames. The video shows the truck arriving at the hotel gates but does not show the final detonation.

If the marines do a job they would do it secretly. It makes no sense to just close down both entrance/exit before blowing up a building "secretly".
That would just ruin the stealthiness. If they marines had anything to do with it, it was probably to send out a message to the Pakistani leader.
However, I highly doubt the marines would do a job like that.

Well,
I do want to point out that this would be the perfect terrorist attack at the perfect time. When Paki's are outraged because of possible cross border
attacks by US Forces.
Another thing I would like to point out although it is probably meaningless,
it took Al Queda a week to remark about 9-11 anniversary.
I feel if this was a US "black op", the hole of the building and several blocks would've been decimated lol.
