At least 40 killed by bomb at Islamabad's Marriott

Why did they attack this hotel at this particular time?
What was going on at this hotel that deemed it a target?
Who were they trying to attack?

The news media just wants to make this attack out to be another random bombing by terrorists, but what we have all learned over the last few years is that they do not attack hotels for no reason. They attack hotels because of who is staying at them, or the meetings that may be going on in their closed door lobbies.

What gets me is the revealing statement on Fox News that states:

Gardaizi said rescuers had counted at least 40 bodies, and he feared that there "dozens more dead inside." Many of the dead were security personnel.

That’s a lot of security personnel, but security personnel for whom? The media will not say. There is more to this story that is for certain.

I find it very interesting that you speak in terms of "let this happen again" and so on. America is not the world police. Specially not when being just as bad yourselfs. Just because the executions carried out by CIA and NSA isnt on the news doesnt mean it doesnt happen.

the CIA blagged Russia into afghanistan so it could have its very own vietnam and damage its forces and economy with the long drawn out war

when you have no battle ground to fight on and no army to fight with how better then to let your enemies make them for you

The Marriott made a huge effort to boost security after the latter attack.

It erected massive metal and concrete vehicle barriers outside the hotel and increased checking on all cars entering the compound. The lobby was also extended to include extra body scanners and X-ray machines for bags.

Some westerners privately complained that the lobby extension -- including the construction of a gigantic glass fish tank -- actually decreased the distance between the front of the hotel and the road.

Footage from the inside of the hotel after the blast showed fish from the shattered tank flopping around the debris while rescuers dragged blood-spattered dead and injured people from the wreckage.

Surveillance video from the attack, or at least how it began. They also have footage of the largest explosion, but it hasn't been released.

A sailor who was a crypto technician died at the Marriott bombing.

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a sailor who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Cryptologic Technician Third Class Petty Officer Matthew J. O'Bryant, 22, of Duluth, Ga., died September 20 in the bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, Pakistan.
