About YouTube upload - link - etc.

Topic started on 19-9-2008 @ 02:09 AM by silo13

When you click on the button on the above right - the YouTube VIDEO button - which is the link you put in there?
I tried all three, the embed code, the URL, and neither brought up the YouTube box for instant viewing.
Help please?
Hey, and i looked for another thread on this with no luck.
Probably right in front of my eyes.

Thanks anyway in advance...

Still no reply?

OH - and why can't I *EDIT* my original post - the OP?

I'd like to be able to ask the question a little more clearly but there is no *Edit* option? (Strange that)...

Let me try again.
When composing a post, as now, there is a line above the typing box with many *button* options - H1 - EX - B and on from left to right until you get to the YouTube VIDEO button.

When you click on it you're prompted to enter a YouTube video number.

What is this number?

I've tried the embedded code, the urls (etc etc) and I still can't get it to bring up the YouTube *box* so people can just *click and play* without getting redirected to YouTube.

Please help.

Thanks.

Actually I've never figured out how to embed a youtube video either.
I've tried the number at the end of the url but that doesn't work either.

Example:

This is the link (the URL-box on Youtube) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyZN5DsWBsc

Save the part after "v=" and remove the part in front. This is the video-id. Wrap yvid-tags around the video-id.

Like this,:
[yvid]SyZN5DsWBsc[/yvid]

...to get this result:

YouTube Link

You say this more for posts that are OPs right?
Sometimes you can post a video link with just a couple of comments as a reply, can't you?

Yes you are correct it would be to an OP but you can't just reply with a video, one reason we ask this is not all member are on DSL many are on dial up so the more commentary the better.

AAAHHHAA!!!!

You're phenomenal!

I've been trying to figure this out for two years. Tutorials like this are really hard to find, you guys should make a new category of threads called "essential tutorials."
