Hi Guys,

Kinda old article but thought it was interesting so will share it with you anyways:

As more and more people come forward with accounts of near-death experiences, new research is about to examine the out of body experience to see whether mind and body really do separate at the point of death.

Link: news.bbc.co.uk...

Out of curiosity has anyone on here had an out of body experience or do they know anyone who has??

What are your thoughts?

I'm fairly new here, but from reading threads I gather there are quite a few people who have had OBE related experiences.

Myself, I have had over 1000 spanning over 20 years. The experience itself is quite grand, as it has a scope that spans far beyond our own physical reality, and known reality into other reality systems, and sub-systems.

My observations are that we actually project into our body, not out of our body as the normal sense of the experience would have us to believe. This observation comes from observing our non-physical self as a mind-based entity that projects parts of itself into sub-systems for the purpose of experiencing said sub-system.

Our exit from the body is really a return to the myriad layers of self which wrap around the context of who we are as a whole, and not a part.

The good news is, we survive death and go on to experience other sub-systems and even create some of our own... it seems to me that from the original source perspective, we have always and will always exist, as one form or another. So rock on.

I did not have a NDE, but I'm sure about their existence. It has been proved, but it's yet to say what are those NDE. I believe in life after death. You should read these two books if you have not done yet:
- "Life after Life"(or one of his sequels)by Raymond Moody;
- "Embraced by the Light" by Betty Eadie.
The first book's been written by the number one specialist of NDE. The second one has been written by a woman who had one of the most famous NDE out there(and one of the most singualar, I have to say).
I believe mind to separate from the body at the time of death. That's my opinion. Some drugged people reported similar visions, but I don't think it's the case. It's a too much compelte experience. As for as the being of light is concerned, he's often described as Jesus.

Interesting article. I always enjoy your threads.

Though I have not had a near-death, I have had OBE's when I was 18/19 years old.

It feels like you are a balloon and is floating. Just like we had to learn how to walk, I was actually learning how to float. I never got out of my house though- too scared. Its like being between reality and a dream.

Hi, I've read that there are ways to improve your chances of having an OBE but I can't remember the details. Can anyone share some insight?

Well personally I do believe in a soul, and I do believe that theres more to life than dying and becoming a rotting piece of flesh in the ground, however many people do not.

I really don't think that we are made to live and then die and thats all that happens, there must be more in life than that and I'm sure many people will agree with me.

However, I can't prove my theories as I haven't died yet (not physically
)

Check the following link:

Obviously people think its serious enough to investigate, theres more to this than it seems people. An open mind is all thats needed.

You should check out this thread and watch the youtube clips embeded in later on in the thread.

I remember existing before this life, it helps in the knowing of our continuum as consciousness.

Interesting article!

I will be curious to see any results of the "hidden symbols and objects" that only a person having an OBE would see... That, to me, would be most convincing.

Well that to me would prove beyond reasonable doubt that OBE's are actually true occurrences, but I really don't think that would be published or announced if it was true.

Let's see what happens, sooner or later someones got to be right and someones got to be wrong.

The best evidence for this type of realization is in the experiencing it for oneself.

You should look at some of the online OBE howto's and learn to enter the mind/awake body/asleep state.

Truth is seldom given, its often realized.
