Apart from the laughable analogy to the movie a few good men, this is an interesting and well ritten article I thought was worth sharing.
Assuming the most favorable justification for secrecy, one comes to the conclusion that releasing the information on UFOs would some how affect
America in a negative way. These beliefs presumably are good reason for those sworn to protect our country to continue the secrecy. They live in
Colonel Jessep“s world. When commands are given, orders are followed, "or people die," and words like "honor," "code" and "loyalty" are the
backbone of a life spent defending freedom. Proud words but for the flagrant trespasses over that line between the legal and illegal. Our Constitution
is the bedrock beneath our society and the basis for all our laws. Disrespect for the Constitution is creating a crisis of legitimacy that threatens
freedom, civil rights, and the rule of law. Legal lines are drawn for a reason. Those maintaining secrecy should remember their oath, to "support and
defend the Constitution". The movie gets it completely right, laws and rules are intended to be followed and the end does not justify the means. No
matter how men like Jessep try to rationalize it, UFO secrecy and the actions of the people behind the concealment are illegal. It is time for America
to know the whole story. WE CAN HANDLE THE TRUTH!
Whatever the reasons for secrecy, some of them are most likely honorable and some of them are most likely egregiously ill considered. Why are we
"little people" being kept in the dark? What if some of the reasoning is not so high minded, benevolent, or compassionate but instead for money,
power, and control?
fact or fiction, it is worth a read...
