Misfits without Danzig doesn't count as the misfits. It's science.

Television paved the way for all music indie in origin! The true American punk rock band. Talking Heads, Richard Hell, Blondie, all influenced by Television.

MC5, possibly the most under-rated band of all time and had such a massive influence on The Ramones, Television et al.
Their influence can be seen to this day in lots of current bands etc.
These guys could possibly lay claim to being THE first punks!

I heard this was the first band to officially record the F word in a major label record, but that could just be talk. They're so good. Without MC5, we wouldn't have At The Drive In, Mooney Suzuki, Trail of Dead, etc...

Camper Van Beethoven - Take the Skinheads Bowling

The Dead Milkmen - Punk Rock Girl

Oi seems to be enjoying a bit of a revival at present with lots of old bands both touring and recording new material.
My mates Last Rough Cause are supporting The Angelic Upstarts and Red Alert on Friday.

Some active Oi bands who, imo, cut it.

Discipline - Everywhere We Go

Deadline - Last Night

Check this out for lots of Punk vid's, both old and new;
