I have heard stories of a "grey man" seen roadside by motorists just prior to being involved in an accident. The "man" is always described as walking on the shoulder of the road (typically a highway) in the opposite direction of the flow of the viewers vehicle. Accidents occur within minutes of the sighting and always involve at least one fatality.

Anyone else heard stories like this?

I have had a look on google and have found different stories.

One being about The grey man in GeorgeTown County somewhere called Pawsley Island. The island is hit with quite a few hurricanes- and before a major hurricane people have claimed to have seen a grey man warning them to leave the Island- it is said that is they left the Island they would come back and their homes would be undamaged.

Another story is about a mountain and when people climb that mountain the see a huge grey shadown which fills them with fear and follows them as they run away.

I couldnt find anything about a grey man by a road side!!!!

I heard about the same type of urban legend of the Virgin Mary, walking by the side of roadways, and seen just before major collisions. Perhaps it was all those tabloid entertainment stories I've seen advertised on the frontside of the counters, at the convenience store I work at. The 'grey man,' hmm.. that's a new one I haven't heard.

I read about this in some alien book when I was younger and interested in that kind of junk (sorry) I've also read that if you see an owl by your window you'll be abducted by aliens and that reptile men live beneath the earth and have controlled civilized humanity dating back to biblical times

Most officers investigating crashes have heard the "Black Dog" one:

Yes, Officer, it was raining and the road was very slick. It was very dark and hard to see. I was driving carefully, just under the speed limit and all of a sudden this black dog ran out from (1) between the cars, (2) the shoulder of the highway, (3) behind the big tree on my side of the road, and when I swerved to miss hitting it, I hit the (1) 3 parked cars on the other side of the road, (2) drove into the ditch on my side of the road, (3) hit the parked emergency vehicle, yes, that one, with all its wig wags, and red and white flashing light bars on.

Naturally the Black Dog vanishes until next time. Sometimes the Black Dog is seen in different locations at the same time, often miles apart. Go figure... This usually occurs late at night usually on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, just before or after the bars close.

Personally I find it very spooky and think it can only be explained by the theory that we are being held hostage to a conspiracy by a large and secret organization which stretches across the entire continent and that these are the shock troops being sent to start chaos and mayhem...

Moral of the story is if you are driving and see anything odd on the side of the road......pull over.

I was thinking about that, just pull over, but then what if you got hit by a car while pulled over? It's that whole battle between free will and fate.
