No, I don't believe so, because it was exactly him. Iive in a small rural town and really nobody looks like my friend. Maybe I don't have the right idea of what a doppelganger is, or maybe it was an hallucination, and maybe that is what doppelgangers are.

Schizophrenia?

im schizophrenic funny u mention it, lol

Truth is relative isnt it ? So.... is it possible people on this website are seeing things they want to see because they want to believe in it ? Not trying to say everyone is wrong, just sharing a possible idea.

But maybe someone could expand on that perchance?

Interesting! My husband's family heritage is in Denmark and certain people we know have seen his doppleganger. I haven't seen it but other people have and asked me why he was in a certain place at a certain time when I knew for a fact he was right here with me. It has happened at least twice since I met him. Hmmmmm.

Recently in a grocery store I saw a woman who looked exactly like me same height, age, eye color. Very strange experience, she was dressed exactly like a fifties house wife complete with a fifties perm. The double gave me maliscious look. I don't think she was a projection of myself. She was more of multidimensional mimic playing a joke on me.

Well, I have been known to see things that other people don't and I read somewhere on the internet that it might be caused by schizophrenia. I don't have a problem with that at all.

I don't know if doppelganger is the right word, but whenever I meet new people they always ask if they met me before. Some of them can pinpoint the exact person who I remind them of, but most just say that I seem really familiar. It is a nice trait to have because most people just trust me without even talking to me. It is like skipping the awkward getting to know people phase. I am not really average enough to be the same as many people either. I mean I am on this site for one. I can juggle, I was the mascot in high school, I'm a volunteer police/fire man, I've met President Obama, and I play a host of instruments including the key-tar. Maybe the doppelgangers we see are just similar people who we categorize once we see them, or maybe it is the really cool time rift explanation.

Doppelganger experience

I had this experience quite a long time ago, when I was around 3 or 4 years old. (I am 16 now).
My family was at McDonalds for dinner and I was playing in the McDonalds playground. Some other kids that I had never seen before in my life came up to me and started talking to me as if they knew me. One kid asked me “Where’s Katy, is she at your Gran’s house?”. I don’t know anyone who’s name is Katy and I only have one grandparent that we call ‘Marmar’. These kids kept calling me Cindy (my Name is actually Shannon). I can’t remember too much, but I think I tried to tell them that my name wasn’t Cindy. Eventually I got too weirded out and went back to my Mum.
Strange experience that one was.

Your story sounds very familiar to me.

I have this one friend who seems to always be everywhere.
When surfing the internet I always find pictures of people that i could swear are him and when I show him the pictures and ask him about it he gets freaked out and says that it's not him in the pictures. I also see people who look like him/and who I think are him pretty much everywhere I go. Crazy.

My theory to this is that he just has a commonly found facial structure/body type/hair colour/demeanor combination.

This certainly brought back a memory!

My dog that I loved so much had died. Two weeks later, the dogcatcher came to my door. He said he had found my dog. I was dumbfounded at his announcement. I said "My dog died two weeks ago. I held her in my arms when she took her last breath."

He said, "Well, several people down the street said this was your dog and they said they all knew him." I said "My dog was a 'she'."

He said, "Well, I just thought I would bring the dog to you instead of going to the pound since the neighborhood was concerned about me taking your dog in." (He still didn't quite get it that this was not my dog.)

I said, "Let me see this dog you have." I walked to the pound truck as he leashed the dog and escorted him out of the back door.

Tears rolled down my face as I looked at this ghost. This dog was the exact image of my dog that had died. They could have been twins. The markings were exact. My dog was a tri color collie mix. This dog, I found out later was the very same mix as my dog. There is no way they could have been related because the dogs were different ages and from different states.

I asked the dog catcher to leave the dog with me and I would find it's owner. (I never knew a dogcatcher would be so unorthodox!!) I took in the stray dog and gave him a nice bath, clipped his nails, and gave him a spray of Canine No. 5. I walked him for 3 days until I finally found his owner. They were very happy to have him back.

I have read that when a person meets their own twin doppelganger it is an ill-omen or portends their death and demise...
I have something somewhere, I will find you a link...
I've often wondered if perhaps the phenomenon of 'shadow-people' widely reported, are actually the worn out remnants of forgotten doppelgangers still wandering the world - long after their 'real' person has passed on.
Very interesting topic =)

well this is hard to believe but one of my childhood friends is what i guess would be my doppelganger we share the exact same name first middle and last date of birth and our mothers names were the same except for the middle and maiden name. furthermore we even had the same scars on our knees, have dated guys with the same name both our mothers died on july 29th 2006 and from a heart attack only difference there was that i was with my mom she wasnt.i was also born red hair and blue eyes which change to black (literally and its not just my pupil gets big it really changes)when im incredibly mad and freckles as was she. we met at the age of 4 through a mutual friend and stayed in touch until we were 10 then at 14 we saw each other again at a camp. without knowing it we even mirror the others moves and have led similar lives. and the strangest part is we are in no way even possibly related!

People ALWAYS think they know me from somewhere. One time back when I used to hang around some shady characters I came across a guy who thought he knew me from some deal or incident he was involved in while incarcerated. Luckily, at that time I did not have a record and so could not have been in prison and I had people who could vouch for that so I was able to convince the guy.

But sometimes people just come up to me and start talking to me like they know me and part of me thinks maybe they are just a crazy person who talks to everybody. Like they just start talking to me kinda like a normal person when you meet them and then they say something like about some other person and then they say "but I don`t know them like I know you" or just something weird like I`m supposed to know something.

A friend of mine actually experienced something like this before realizing it, though both he and I didn't know what to make of it until now.

He was in a Walmart several years ago, when he was like 10, and saw someone that looked almost exactly like him (only way older) brush past him and jog through a nearby aisle. The guy he saw was looking around and he actually heard him say something like "Where is she?". Then he turned around, looked at my friend, and then hurried off out of nowhere.

Well a few months ago in late 2009 my friend was back in that Walmart again (even though he moved across town) for the first time in a while, and was trying to find where his mom had gone off to. i was with him, and i split up and helped him look. well, i found her talking to an old friend in the clothing section while he had looked around the other side of the store were all the food was.

I ran back over and he was coming out of the frozen isle, and he said something about seeing some kid about 10 years old that looked almost exactly like him, and was more in a kind of "Haha, that was a pretty cool coincidence" reaction.

Then later on he was telling me and a group of friends about it and remembered the other time he saw someone that looked like him (the time at the start of my post), and then he was in shock because he realized it was the same exact thing only flipped around.

He kept swearing it was bit-for-bit the same exact event, and him being so creeped out about it got me a bit creeped out too.

Does this fall under the "Doppleganger" thing?

I have seen things like this before. Both me and my girlfriend have seen myself and a friend of mine randomly throughout our house, to me it seems more like an alternat universe temporaraly merging with our for a split second.

This has happened to me a number of times in my life. The one that sticks out in my head the most, I had purchased a ticket to a local music event and when i was walking through the gate, I handed the girl my ticket and she laughed and asked why i had bought a new ticket. Apparently not even 5 minutes before my doppleganger had purchased a ticket and walked in, even went to the same girl at the gate. Of course I never saw him. Some friends at the same event also said they thought i was there already. As far as I know I have no long lost twin, but it was an interesting day nonetheless.

I belive that dopplegangers are reptilians that have shapeshifted into you. It fairly common. The reptilians don't have the ability to create thier own apperance they someone elses. I wonde what the original Obama was like.

Have had several people tell me they have seen me other places. The last time 2 people saw 'me' in Nashville but it wasn't me! Heard also from an online friend that I have a twin in Alberta Canada.

My last twilight zone event was through an email from Toronto, Ontario. I received an assorted group of trick photography photos ie. a woman sitting on a bench, and horse sticking it's head out of barn, making the horse look like it had a woman's head type thing. Well, as I'm scrolling looking at these photos , I came across this one photo that had me or my likeness in it! It was a tricked shot with someone's index finger and thumb around this head , causing the head to be twisted, and person acting hurt. Freaked me out! I KEPT this photo. I would post it along with a pic of me BUT lol I'd rather NOT! ..gotta stay anon ...My Privacy ..ya know... Someone warning me?? lol I know..it's not funny, but I do laugh when I'm nervous!
