Oh really! This is a commercial to recruit members. If it is really a "VERY OLD commercial" how did they distribute it to inquirers, on VHS or Betamax?

Oh look, you're back.
It's a cheesy video that talks about Masonry, trying to help disabuse folks fo some of the notions that you and others seem to frolic in.
As for Masons keeping people from their Lodges, Masons rent them out, heck, the old masonry building in Pensacola is for sale right now.
They lease them for weddings, theatre (in the case of the larger lodges) parties...
As I said in a earlier thread, you could probably get a tour of one if you asked.
The reason why this video and others exist is because of the nonsense you feel obligated to spread.

You know, Achilles, I suppose we masons do owe you a bit of thanks. While everyone is trying to reason with you and show you that there is no conspiracy, you so want to believe one that your actually doing us a favor. Your adding to the mystique of something which is really not all that mysterious by continuing to believe in things like this despite all evidence to the contrary which says your wrong.

I have a feeling you at some point were either rejected from freemasonry, or some other group. There is no other reason why you could continue to believe what amounts to complete falsehoods in the face of so much evidence. It probably also explains your crazed obsession with cults - you want to justify why you got rejected. The problem, of course, is that freemasonry cannot be a cult because (1) its not a religion and (2) there is no centralized, charismatic figure that is absolutely required in order for an organization to be a cult.

What I find most amusing is that actually, when you look at those who spend their time grounded in objections to freemasonry that are still wrong but much more grounded in reality, the vast majority of anti-masons yourself know better than to call masonry a cult. Its really only the very small minority who try to make such a hilarious and obviously untrue statement. At one time I even caught the hilariously wrong founder of "Ex-Masons for Jesus" admit that masonry could not be a cult, although that was a while ago.

Tell me, Achilles, why is it that all of masonic ritual has been exposed, if were so good no anti-masons get in? If you read the archives, as I have being a long-time lurker, you would also see many of the masons on this board joined FIRST because they believed in the conspiracy theories and wanted to expose them. What do you have to say to those people, who later admitted there was nothing sinister going on and are now "happy" members of the fraternity?

It is really quite simple, you have to believe in a supream being to be a mason. You have chosen to believe that there is not a supream being, so you were not chosen for masonry. Now you are bitter. Nobody can tell you what to believe. That is the beauty of Free Will. But the masons have the "Free Will" not to accept someone who is an athiest. So he in lies your delema.
