Correct! At some point you just have to believe it is true. What do you need? Thunderbolts, or a booming voice? You won't get that.
God did give proof. It's called prophecy. Pick up one of the books like Every Prophecy of the Bible and study that. Even if you don't believe it you find it interesting.
