So Kim Jong-Il is apparently sick. What if he is already dead? He might possibly have a body double.

Now all of this is an already wide spread alternative theory in its own right. Assuming that he had in fact passed away, it could be rationalized that his death was not made public knowledge because it would stir up the country. It would just be such an inopportune time for him to die. I'm certain North Korean leadership close to him would not be pleased at the notion of a regime change, especially in such a politically turbulent time. They can't wager having a new leader appointed, especially if he or she is incapable of exercising the truculence and artifice, against the international powers and world at large, in which Jong-Il is so proficient. Also, whatever Jong-Il is cooking up, in terms of advancing his country's nuclear power agenda, may be limited to the closest members of his cabinet. They would not like to see a new leader come in and wipe away their plans. Jong-Il has said that he does not believe his son(s)? are qualified enough to take over leadership of the country after his death. That likely means a new president will take over from the Communist party. If in fact his son is "appointed" this could be indicative of Jong-Il's untimely (actual) death and expose this whole cover up involving body doubles, Jong-Il's (the fake one's) declining health and multiple strokes. It would be his closest members of cabinet that decide to appoint this son, whom Jong-Il is convinced would not make a good leader, as president, and only them.

Assuming Jong-Il is dead; this body double is now slowly being made to appear to be dying, so as to make his death seem natural.

Was Kim Jong-Il killed?

Total speculation on my part, but he seems to be the type of man who would want his death to be a big dramatic spiritual musical (Team America, anyone?) event, soon to be a national holiday.

I added some to my post above. What do you think?

As I understand it, KJIl's son is even worse than the father. On that note, it may be the NK Government preparing for a change of leadership from KJIl to his son OR they realize what the son would be like and are preparing for a change of policy to bypass the son.

...hmmmm. Gonna look into the son and get some dirt...brb

[EDIT] Well, from Wiki there's this: Kim Jong-woon, but, it doesn't tell much.

Kim Jong-woon aka Kim Jong-woong (born 1983 or 1984) is the supposed third son of Kim Jong-il with his late partner Ko Young-hee. He is reportedly known as the "Morning Star King", probably under the instruction of his mother.

Kim Jong-il's former chef, Kenji Fujimoto, revealed details of Kim Jong-woon, stating that he is favoured to be his father's successor. Fujimoto also claimed that Jong-woon is favoured by his father over his elder brother, Jong-chul, reasoning that Jong-chul is too feminine in terms of his character, while Jong-woon is "exactly like his father".

That's all folks. The whole article.

Let's see...what else....

GlobalSecurity.org came up with a short article as well. Both have mentioned this former chef's book.
Kim Jong-woong - Leadership Succession

Writing under his pen name, Kenji Fujimoto, a Japanese sushi chef who worked for Kim Jong-il for 13 years wrote a best-selling memoir, "I Was Kim Jong Il's Cook." Specialists following North Korea characterize Fujimoto's accounts as being credible. According to one account, "Fujimoto said, Kim would often bemoan that Kim Jong Chul, his 23-year old son, would never rule because he had turned out to be "like a girl." Fujimoto said Kim doted on his youngest son -- Kim Jong Woon, 18, who looks like the North Korean leader." According to one rumor, Koh Yong Hee had ordered the Workers Party and high officials to call Jong-Woon the "Morning Star King".

I am seeing nothing to back up what I heard about his son being worse than him. I, at this time, retract my above assessment until further notice.

Maybe he missed that parade because he might have been afraid of a possible assassination attempt perhaps? Just an idea. Maybe he's not dead, and maybe he's not even il? ... erh, I meant "ill".

I think your ideas make perfect sense and it isn't beyond belief by any stretch that this would actually happen.

I would think that there would be a plan for his death, put into motion even before he died (knowing the end was near), but perhaps the ploy is needed to actually execute the plan?

Hmm- good ideas anyhow.

He had a stroke no?
Assuming that this is the case, and to debunk the OP, I think in order to cover this up, they would have already presented a double.

That said.....

It is very likely that the "communist" party would want to stay in power, by any means.

So the fact that it has been made public is interesting.....

And yes, his son is even worse, because he had been brought up by the best

Ah, well thank you for researching his sons. I didn't know if he had more than one. The only one that was given media attention was Kim Jong-chul, who was described, in terms of his candicacy as "no good because he is like a little girl." If indeed Kim Jong-Il believes this other son would make a great candidate for presidency, and is planning on appointing him before his death, then my point concerning the confusion produced within the party due to a change in leadership can be thrown out the window.

I don't think his demise will have come as any great surprise to future plans; although obviously a stroke always disrupts the immediate ones.
Regarding the use of a double I think it would be limited to if, say North Korean TV wants to show Kim recovering in bed. You can't show the masses "The Great Leader" unable to speak.

Frankly it’s hard to see how the North Korean people could get a worse government.
Out of all the places in the world to be re-incarnated I believe North Korea probably beats even starving Ethiopia as although like Africa you get to starve and nothing works, unlike Africa its also extremely cold and thanks to the most totalitarian government on earth you don't even have freedom of thought-experience government brainwashing from childhood.

I wonder if this new son will have any bright ideas? Like become a more regular dictator? Or is the Kim Jong family completely unoriginal?
I think the other son “who thinks like a girl”; might have expressed a few too many concerns for starving worshippers- (i.e. minion citizens). If true this would at least offer some hope that more progressive ideas are in the family.
