I am just curious.. Chavez has mentioned several times he has proof the US was behind this coup. I am itching to see the evidence. If legit, I could see his point of view.

With that said, after 6 years, I have seen nothing that resembles proof the US was behind the coup. Also, it took Chavez a long time to kick out the US Ambassador... It's something he should and would have done after the coup itself. I personally find that odd.

Why doesn't everyone just get along. Just becuase we're all split up by invisible lines on a stupid map, doesn't mean that we can't all treat each other with respect. I am a Native American, and everyday I see the true nature of humans in the news and on TV and it disgusts me to the core. No wonder the end times are here, we can't even look past nationalities, skin color, religious beleifs to see that we are all people. If everyone all over the world would just accept other people for who they are then maybe, just maybe we can solve the bigger problems facing our race. Everyday, everywhere people are starving, have no health care, families separated and broken, all because we can't see past all the stupid crap I stated above. I hope to hell that one of these days the battle at the end of our time will commence so that I wouldn't have to see the atrocities commited by people on other people. The first bunch of people I would like to see go first are the Haters, the people who are so wound up in their own nationality and religion that they cannot and will not accept other people who are different from themselves. The next group I would like to see go are the pacifists and lazy a$$es, these folks almost bother me worse than the first group because they think that they have little or no capacity to help others so they don't. And lastly I would like to see all the folks who think that they are better than everyone else, you know who I'm talking about, those rich brats that grow up without learning the value of hard work and humility, the megalomaniacs, and racists.

With all that being said I'm going to go take a walk, if I sit here any longer I'm probably going to absorb all the hate that I feel. I hope everyone can put aside their differences and see each others as equal.

Regarding some of these anti-US posts...

Just remember it's the GOVERNMENT, not the people that are to blame here. We're slaves to the system, and largely manipulated by the media. Regretfully, I voted for Bush, twice. Yes I was that naive in my youth, but I woke up as I noticed more and more things that seemed 'off'. Access to news on the internet makes a HUGE difference. If Faux and CNN is all you get, it's hard to see the truth.

I'm glad to see Chavez is standing up to the US, but I'm afraid his message will cause people to hate me and others who don't deserve it.

I keep thinking of leaving the country, but I'm afraid that people in other countries will treat me as if I'm an Arab hating nuke-toting neo-nazi bent on taking over the world.
My great grandparents left Germany before it became a dictatorship. I wonder if they were treated like nazis... maybe that's why they changed their last name.

calm, impressive, and worthy of respect.......

Yeah, no!

Do you even know what socialism is and can you explain the theory without using google?

Socialism is only good if it's individualy excepted, if it's manditory, then it turns into a bad thing cause forcing someone to share is wrong, when you force someone to share, that makes it stealing, that makes it comunism.

With that said, I think the US is still running it's MKULTRA program, escept this time its not the american epople, it's all focused on Chavez lol.
Seriously though, this guy is just taking a stick and poking it at a hornets nest. He thinks he can do this because he thinks Russia has his back, he may be right.
Although I don't know wheather or what the CIA has done in to make this guy so mad or what is really going on (if someone could point me to some links about why Chavez is so mad), I can say who ever is responcible, it doesn't really matter at the time cause soon there probably will be a war between US and Russia if everything happens the way it looks like it will happen.
Also, to those of you who think that Americans are bloodthirsty barbarians or whatever, we're not, our brain washing government is. Remember, we're not the ones who created the World Bank, we're also not the ones who created The Crown, we are subserviant to it though, sadly.

Can you even imagine how wonderful that would be ?...but it will never happen.Someone, somewhere, will always want to meddle into someone else's affairs, just for fun or for profit.
I don't think that Chavez is totally right on his approach, but i kinda agree with some stuff he's doing.

Too bad it came to this.Too bad that a lot of Americans, for whom i still have a lot of respect and see as human beings, not ignorant beligerants, allowed the situation to develop to this point.

Chavez is no better than the moron in the Whitehouse, he want's to destabilize the region trying to get support from everybody in South America. Well at least he lost support from most of us, South Americans.

The next big thing would be Brazil to invade Bolivia in case they cut "our" much needed Gas supply. They already stole our very expensive refineries.

What's a spat between the US and South America without tit-for-tat?

US expels Venezuelan ambassador

The United States has expelled Venezuela's ambassador.

It is the latest step in a deepening diplomatic crisis.

First Bolivia accused the United States of instigating violent anti-government protests and kicked out the American ambassador.

Then Bolivia's ally, Venezuela, did the same thing.

A US State Department spokesman, Sean McCormack, says the United States will now expel Venezuela's envoy.

"Charges levelled against our fine ambassadors by the leaders of Bolivia and Venezuela are false and the leaders of those countries know it."

The State Department is also accusing three top Venezuelan officials of helping a Columbian rebel group traffic drugs.

U.S. and Venezuela escalate crisis

CARACAS/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Friday imposed sanctions on Venezuelan officials it accused of helping Colombian rebels smuggle drugs, deepening a diplomatic crisis that raised the specter of an oil supply cutoff.

The U.S. Treasury Department said Venezuela's top two intelligence chiefs and a recently retired interior minister of had assisted Marxist guerrillas fighting the U.S.-backed Colombian government to traffic in coc aine and guns.

The United States banned U.S. citizens from having dealings with the officials and froze any U.S. assets they may own.

At this rate I dare say the US will be looking for a new supplier for oil. They might start getting friendly with Iran again, who knows?

Points to the U.S. for kicking out Bolivia's ambassador for cracking down on protests. Its time to stand up to socialism.

It's also time to stand up to Fascism and the Military-Industrial complex and pox americana

The old Soviet Union took Socialism to its extreme and showed us all what lies ahead when Socialism is adopted.

You end up with a two class society with a huge gap between the haves and have nots. To control the population and keep them from rebelling you must control the press and speech. The general, impoverished population has to live in tiny hovels often holding more than one family so they can afford food. People had to stand in line for entire days just to get a loaf of bread. Those who complained to the fabulously wealthy ruling elite were silenced by being placed in Prisons in isolated locations and hidden from the world. Young men were conscripted into the military against their will. Religions were either controlled by the State or eliminated.

Cuba - same thing.

What Chavez really wants -same thing.

What their supporters want - apparently the same thing, so you must be assuming you will be one of the elite who rule the dirt poor working class while you reap the rewards of their work. No matter how admirable the idea of Socialism is in theory, it always ends up the same way. Many suffer so a select few can prosper.

You might try to find the movie "The war will not be televised". Not sure if it was staged or real but it seemed real enough. It detailed the coo in Venezuela that ousted and then restored Chavez. Of course since then he became friends with Castro who is a trained Jesuit.

Socialism, communism, fascism, national socialism, democracy are all fantasies created by the Jesuits to divide and conquer.

Well it's not that bad yet. The United States still gets the majority of it's oil from Canada,Saudi Arabia, and Mexico. Even with this news the price of oil still dropped today to $100 US dollars a barrel.

No chance of that happening.

Seeing documents were uncovered that showed the US did provide support to the coup against Chavez, you cannot blame the autocrat for being paranoid.

Your not paranoid if they are really after you! What's with all this talk of him being such a autocrat? Didn't they elect him and doesn't the media in Venezuela spend the best part of every day trying to discredit him? I am not sure if i would show as much restraint but i suppose he knows that the very organized MSM of the west would jump at any additional chances to find 'evidence' that he is the worse type of autocrat alive.

Also, there is no stomach in Latin America to support his radical socialism, so I do not understand why the United States is obsessed with Chavez.

There is nothing radical about the version of socialism he is trying to implement per the people's wishes. In fact Chavez is very moderate and is not by any means nationalizing as much as he could or distributing as much wealth as is available. Chavez is a vast improvement but to call him a radical is to forgot that the true radicals are in the White house and staging invasions around the world.

I do find it interesting that he was expelled now. His reference was that the US will not be allowed back until there is a change in administration in Washington. I think this is code that we will not be allowed back if a certain politician is not elected in November.

I do think we would have better relations with the Marxists rulers in this world if one of the two candidates is elected.

In the end the one with the far leaning left attitude will have a better relationship with these little dictators and thats what Chavez wants. It is very interesting to say the least...

It is more serious than you think:

El presidente Hugo Chávez informó que hay varios detenidos en la investigación de un supuesto plan de magnicidio en el que estaría implicado un vicealmirante de su círculo cercano y acusó a Estados Unidos de estar detrás de la conjura.
'En este momento ya tenemos varios detenidos'', afirmó el mandatario durante un encuentro con simpatizantes en la capital.
También acusó al gobierno de George Bush de estar detrás de los disturbios ocurridos en Bolivia, y de los planes de conspiración del Paraguay.

He also accused the government of George Bush of being behind the riots in Bolivia, and plans conspiracy of Paraguay.

"We are strategic allies. It is a message to the Empire. Venezuela is no longer that lonely and poor, exploited and humiliated country on the ground "

"From here and in the name of millions of Latin Americans (...) (...) we call the U.S. president that respects the sovereignty of our peoples, our governments, respect, respect only ask, we do not ask anything more" , He told to thousands of his supporters gathered in a demonstration at the government palace in Caracas.

It is unfortunate but it looks like the world is heading in this direction. Anything to eliminate America will be done. The "free press" is enabling the Marxists in the world to win the propaganda game and most here on ATS love it as well.

They will be sorry when the Chavez's of the world start rounding them up. They will wonder where all the freedom fighters went. I say so be it. Elect Obama and his crew. It will only take one term to eliminate the thugs in this country and remove their power for good...
