Here is another "alien" phenomena. This is off Vieques Island, Puerto Rico. I had the pleaseur of doing some environmental remediation for the military installation, as they prepared to close their bombing range. I did not take these pictures, bur witnessed this firsthand.

Bioluminescent Bay:

By looking at alien environments in our Planet, there must be other plants similar to it or very strange. This is great work. I think the movies that we see of other planets are loosely based on these places. The giant red flower was just creepy.

Salt flats seem "alien" too. With the crystalline structure and geometry.







And then there is this hillside with numerous cacti:
