I can't believe that that would be an appropriate hour for maintenance

There was not maintenance... that screen was just a graceful error indicator.

Looking into the downtime cause now.

God I hope it was just an error.
The alternative would be sooooooo wrong.

Hmmm rense.com down recently, maybe same people having ago at ATS? Wouldn't surprise me given the massive rise in trolls and their hyper emotionally loaded posts and irrelevant threads. Please let us know if you can get a handle on what happened and where it came from.

PS: I hope the ATS database is backed up, mirrored and stored in multiple off site secure locations.

So much content here would be priceless and a tragedy to lose!

Another site I frequent called The Unhived Mind was attacked in the early hours of the morning BST. Nobody can make any new posts including the admin.

Definately something fishy going on if you ask me.

I'm trying to avoid going ballistic as to what sick mind would do this on this date and time.

Prudence dictates that we await the facts before we start punching walls.

For all we know SO plugged in his Wii in the wrong server, if you know what I mean.

Yup, something very strange is happening. GLP is down aswell - there is an official reason, but doesn`t make sense to me.
Also, we had problems with login in Skype in my country. Plus, in another forum i saw people complaining about problems with MSN. Too many "coincidences".

As far as I can tell the site was unavailble in the UK from approximately 9am to about 14.15.

Not sure if that was the same stateside, but it looks like it.

I'm forcing myself to try and laugh.
The alternative, some sick mind attacking us on the date and time of the attacks.
Again, though it would be easy at this point in time to let the imagination go into overdrive, I suggest we take a breath and wait for the truth. It's to early to burn down the observatory to stop comets from hitting us.
We wait for a simple answer, we prepare for angry mob sitx.

Ok well I don't know if it was attacked or not.
Im sure the admin will get to the bottom of it.
But one thing yesterday I noticed from a few hours before they fired up the LHC and many hours into the happenings with it.
Internet problems all over the place.
The internet in general seemed clogged up.
I don't know if this was because akamai was broadcasting the LHC stuff and there was just alot more usage than normal or not.
But it seems to be ok now.Google was even slow.

Yup, noticed in the U.S. Midwest as well.

DNS or router problems would be my guess. Intentional exploits? Do you think anyone would reveal that?

So what you're saying it could have been worse than seeing the "Under Maintenance" screen. We could have seen SO Wii Screen instead???

I think that would have freaked me out moore
