I would like to add that I don't hate any countries I'm just an American who loves his country the most. Just like another country citizen will love their country I stand by mine. Things have to change yes and look what's happened. We have a black man running for President and a woman running for Vice President, now that's change and a first for America. We need to change more and I feel we will. America will overcome it's problems and succeed as long as the American people stand tall and fight for what's right. I can't hate America.

I have to laugh at the comments being made here by so many. America is proud and arrogant because it is the only remaining superpower. The rest of the world owes a HUGE amount of gratitude to America. When tragedy happens around the world, who is the first one there with help and monetary aid? When anything bad happens in the world, everyone wants to know when the Americans are going to come to their aid. During World War II alone, America saved the butt of countless nations who would othrwise be speaking German or Japanese and living under totalitarian regimes. When military might needs to be called in to handle whatever situations come up, who else has the balls to step in? Certainly not France or Italy. Thank God America has some reliable friends in Britain, Australia, Canada and a few others with some balls as well. If not for America, where would technology be today? Even countries who despise America drink Coke and wear Levi's. America is the way it is today in the world because the rest of the world put it there and relies on heavily on it for financial aid, humanitarian aid and Democratic support. Is the country perfect? No, but then again nothing and no one is.

I have lived in 16 countries around the world for about an 8 year period and know what much of the world is like. Those Americans who speak badly against the nation are both uneducated and untravelled, and expect the country to do everything for them and give everything to them instead of realizing that America was built on the principle of simply allowing the freedom for people to do for themselves.

I also have to laugh loudly at seeing many of the Obama supporters criticzing America for having too much control over people when this is the whole tenet of the Democrats. If Obama becomes president, he wants more control over you than you are currently under. Democrats want to do everything for you, but in order to do that they must make everything a government-run program, and increase your tax burden to pay for it.

Let me ask you a question. Why would Americans want to travel more when it is so obvious the type of resentment abound and the obvious treatment that we would receive in other countries?

Ask yourself, who the heck would want that? Do I want to go to Spain so that I can be accosted and treated like an enemy simply for being American? Should I as an American citizen bare the brundt of all of you disgruntled foreigners and just allow you to take out all of your hatred and contempt for America on me? While Im on vacation? Would anyone find it pleasant to sit in a bar in France and get mocked and treated like garbage simply for having an American accent?

No thanks .

Someone else made a point that I will agree with. It seems that people in other countries spend an awful lot of time hating Americans and our country. They seem to have a keen interest in everything we do and say, everything that they can get hold of that is American they do.

Have you ever seen an American get angry about Australian politics? Ever see an American become so deeply enthrenched in Polish or German affairs? Do you see Americans criticizing the Swiss for how they eat or what kinds of car they drive?

No. Because the fact is most Americans could care less. There is your truth. Most do not spend one passing second worrying about what you think of us, so keep on hating an entire nation of people who hardly even know that you exist. It seems to make many of you feel important.

Good luck with that.

I know what my country is and is not. Please do not assume I am uneducated or unsophisticated simply because I am candid about the country I call home.

Of course that's my real attitude - why should anyone be openly charitable to ANYONE who hated you enough to kill you or your friends? That would be like me sending 30% of my pay to a family down the street to pay for their food and water but if I go down there to visit, I get my butt kicked. Same thing on a global scale - the US sends billions of dollars of foreign aid to other countries who would in a heartbeat turn around and stab us in the back? Do you think you would support another country if they had no regard for you or your way of life?

As for Iraq. I served two tours over there. That will not be discussed on this forum with any of you. What I will say - we (the US military) don't "kill innocent" civilians under orders or on purpose. If it happens it is because of accidents - I mean it is a "war" after all. Go back and look at the numbers from WWII. But I guess that war was all American agression too, right? We should have been nicer to the Nazis and sent them aid and money so they could take over the entire world? I guess it is hard for those who can't research on their own to see the similarities between today and yesteryear because this time, the threat isn't as obvious as a uniformed military taking over the world. (If you decide to throw in an American military comment with that sentense, go **** yourself.)

I know who I am - I'm proud of the fact that I'm American. If that makes me seem arrogant to you, I'm sure I could arrange for some tissues to be sent. We learned to stop being subservient a long time ago. 1770s, I believe that's why we come off as cocky or arrogant. No. We're just confident. As you should be in your respective countries. What's worse than a person who doesn't care about anything enough to stand up for it? Hmm?

I'll fight tooth and nail for the people of the US to be able to practice free speech AND keep their guns. You don't know my political background so don't give me some crap about (WAH WAH WAH - right wing neo con gun lobbyist WAH WAH WAH) I don't have the want to hear that kind of childish garbage from you. All I know is I'd rather be in America.

I don't hate the United States. I feel sorry for them, the union is imploding, by design. And it's going to hurt.

I loved the idea of the America under the bill of rights... but even that was doomed to failure, as it was built on the blood of the indians and had it's own bad karma, not to mention it failed to escape the fractional reserve banking european elitist trap.

All empires fail. We Portuguese have lived this, we rose to near world dominance and fell due to our own hubris and elitist dysfunction. This awareness is part of our culture.

Out of the ashes, hopefully metaphorical ashes, of this america there should be a better, more humble, more loving america born, as is possible when the information age shows a picture of yourself you cannot deny. Introspection time.

So deny ignorance. And deny the elites their nazi world police america.

I believe that one of the reasons the US is today viewed with distrust is also due to it's foreign policies. This is something that alot of Americans really don't understand the importance of due to the fact that they don't experience the consequneces of it. My example....I live in Italy, and here we have numerous large US Military bases. One of these bases, Dal Molin base near Aviano, keeps 90 NUCLEUR WARHEADS, and is considered to be one of the largest and main strategic bases for the US in Europe. How would a American feel if they had 90 Italian nukes on their territory? Multiply this example to all of the world and you can start to get the picture of how massive the presence of the US military is felt globally.

Another element which has always disturbed me, even more lately, is the use of, and distortion of the use of religion in your politics......especially the republicans.....I mean to be honest....from where I stand hearing Palin saying that her mission is to follow God's Will sounds very similar to the very extremists which the US are at war with!!! I mean whats the deal? Really....how do you expect to win a war against terror in this way??? It justifies or at least seems like you are really pushing towards a war of religions, a clash of cultures! In the Arab world your foreign policies have only generated future generations of pure hate and revenge towards the West, and the US in particular.....and what's worse is that you seem to have not learned the lesson yet! Win the war, win the war...what the hell are you talking about???? Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Saddam Hussein, WMD's, Bin Laden......what exactly do you want to do? The way I see is it you either drastically change your foreign policies now (probably too late) to avoid future dire consequences caused by years of reckless war-mongering and political/military arrogance.....OR KILL EVERYBODY! lol !!! It's really time for the US Government to change it's foreign policies and GROW UP, and perhaps starting to treat the American people like adults wouldn't be bad either! Otherwise I think we can all expect a MUCH duller future.

Finally....there are other issues which personally I believe give a negative/hypocritcal perception of the US : your health system, capital punishment, global warming policies, but lets not get into those now

America is a great country yes, but ruled by evil sadistic people like the Bush' and now McCain wants to continue the skull tradition of Power and Death and also to speed up the new New World Order agenda ala that fateful day in september when four buildings were imploded probably not by Osama himself but by your own government, and to detonate those four buildings would have been planned at least 6-12 months in advanced
certainly no accident and commercial planes flying as fast as they did has
certainly been overlooked just like the never plane crash at the Pentagram
where no plane wreckage was recovered at all, so where is the pentagon wreckage?

America needs to understand that just because Mr and Mrs Middle America can't see you arming Saddam Hussain, supporting dictatorships, twisting the economic arms of other countries, supporting aggressive nations like Israel - it doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.

Read a history book, understand your world - then you wouldn't have to ask inane questions like 'why does the world hate us?'

I'm an Australian, and here at least, it's sickeningly 'cool' to hate America. Some people even thought you guys brought 9/11 on yourselves (I nearly threw my coffee in a girl who said this face). There's t-shirts here with Hitler beside Bush in a comparative sort of way (which, is just ridiculous and makes the left look bad. NOTHING is as evil as Hitler was. NOTHING. To say so is to say those who died in those camps died to a lesser, less vicious form of malignancy). It's just ridiculous. The left wing here seem to condemn racism everywhere, but hypocritically openly despise Americans. Do they watch your films? Do they live in a country that trades with you? Happily. They're hypocrites, bashing your nation and enjoying it's fruits, attacking your religion and then screaming their anti-American dogma in people's faces like any drunken Irish priest would. It's sad what people become when it's ' cool' to hate something. They tend to forget generalized hate is a bad thing, an infection of soul.

911 was an inside job. Prescott Bush, Bush's grandpa financed the nazis. Hitler was an elitist bastard child, some say, there are plenty of people on this planet as evil as he was. A nation is not an individual to be ostracized, I would trade with a russian, an isreali, an iranian or a south african if it suited my business and was in an area that did not ofend my ethics.

Please, don't throw coffee at me.

It won't be the united States that implodes, it will be the elitist who fall from power. It is the People of the united States that will win when those who interjected fiat currency and socialist/communist bureaucracies into our Republic "implode".

NO the Bill of Rights is still alive in all TRUE Americans heart and soul; and when the time comes it and the Constitution will be restored to their proper place as the Supreme Law of this Land.

This snippet from Tennyson sums up the way I feel about the USA:

"Tho' much is taken, much abides; and tho'
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are,--
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."

I feel that what you strive, seek and find this time will be the true nature of the modern USA. And sorry, but that is something that you must yield, to live in anything resembling a land of the free.

But if you're right, and americans bring back the America of the Bill of Rights, the america europeans flocked too for freedom and prosperity, if you reintegrate the indians, and conquor the racism, then I for one will feel happy for it and indeed for you.

Wow. Great. Prove it.

And I mean proof. Real proof. Not pseudo-Roswell witnesses of witnesses sort of thing either. I saw a guy who knew a guy who read a document. Seems to me, though a dodgy so and so, Bush hasn't yet taken over the world, put gays in concentration camps, murdered droves of hippies who object his totalitarian world or anything the ultra left's paranoia claimed he'd do. The u-left hurt their own cause by preaching this crap. When he didn't do it, it just made them look...whats the word again...paranoid? Not to say his family are totally clean, far from it.

What I meant was, the 3000 who died hadn't brought it on themselves which was something this particular girl was almost, though unknowingly alluding to. People tend to forget about that when they're too busy screaming about 1984 becoming a reality.

www.youtube.com...

Some say huh?

I'd coffee you in the face. No problem. You take sugar with that? Joking.

I could repeat the often mentioned; I don't hate America but I hate the Government and things it does. That would not be true though. Not everyone in Government is bad. Some are and that is sad.

When I say I love America I mean it.

I love the fact I can stand in front of City Hall with a sign full of nonsense, protesting anything I want as long as I don't infringe on other rights.

I love the fact I once saw a person from PETA in a chicken suit crossing the road over and over again in front of a fast food joint, even if I did not agree. Nobody bothered them or stopped them even though they might have 3 people in the whole city backing them.

I love the fact I was able to lift myself out of poverty with a business I started with $180 in my pocket.

I love the fact we have so much diversity and the wonderful Immigrants I've met from all over the world.

I love the fact my Ancestors were able to escape the madness of their home countries and come here and start a good life.

I love the fact we can throw the bums out of office every few years if we join together and vote.

I love the fact that our poor are wealthier than much of the population of the earth.

I love the fact that when I became homeless for a time, I could get multiple hot meals a day and sleep in a bed every night thanks to the generosity of Christians who are allowed to freely practice their faith here.

I love the fact we have such a diverse landscape ...

(I made a Friend of a man from Kuwait at the end of the first Gulf War. He had been the equivalent of what we would call a Mayor here. Most of his family was butchered by Saddam's thugs the first day of their occupation of Kuwait. He lost everything. He came here and got his credentials and was teaching at a University within a couple of years.

As I sat in his living room asking questions, I mentioned how I'd like to travel the world and see places like the Middle East. His pupils grew as he looked at me and said, "Why would you want to do that! The whole world is here in America. There is nothing in the world you can not see here.")

... and that I can freely travel and never see it all in my lifetime.

I love that if I so choose, I can go native and live in the woods on public lands while enjoying its bounty.

I love the fact I can belong to any Religion I wish or not belong; my choice.

I love ALL COUNTRIES who give their people freedom of choice, religion and speech. We are brothers and sister in every sense of the word, even if we don't always agree.

I could go on for hours -

What I hate is the fact that bad people can cheat and lie their way into our government and try to destroy what I love.

I don't' like the people who attempt to destroy us from outside because they can not tolerate a country like ours existing and showing their people how life could be.

I don't like those who live here and yet spew hatred about us instead of joining in and helping make our country better.

I don't like those who live here and lie about us because of some unfounded hatred of all society in general. Those who want Anarchy and feed off hate and violence.

I don't like the Political Parties that tear us apart instead of bringing us together.

I don't like our media who lie and distort facts for ratings and political favors for their executives or to try and change us by misleading us.

I don't like those of us who try and force their idea's on us even though the vast majority of us don't want it.

I don't like those who use their wealth to try and influence our government and control us by lying to us on their Blogs and Websites.

I don't like those who make documentaries full of distortions to try and control how we vote or think.

I'm saddened by the gullible who let outside forces influence them into hating their own country and making it worse, instead of becoming part of the solution by participating.
