Just when I start to think these Elitist Heathens can't POSSIBLY suprise me anymore with their contempt for the populace, along comes another little gem like this...

So now folks losing their homes will also lose their right to vote eh?

Then again, it really doesn't make much of a difference, as all of our "choices" will serve the same special interests anyway.

The chairman of the Republican Party in Macomb County Michigan, a key swing county in a key swing state, is planning to use a list of foreclosed homes to block people from voting in the upcoming election as part of the state GOP’s effort to challenge some voters on Election Day.

“We will have a list of foreclosed homes and will make sure people aren’t voting from those addresses,” party chairman James Carabelli told Michigan Messenger in a telephone interview earlier this week. He said the local party wanted to make sure that proper electoral procedures were followed.

I particularly liked the below paragraph in relation to this....No vested interests here folks, nothing to see, move on like good little dumbed-down sheeples...

GOP ties to state’s largest foreclosure law firm

The Macomb GOP’s plans are another indication of how John McCain’s campaign stands to benefit from the burgeoning number of foreclosures in the state. McCain’s regional headquarters are housed in the office building of foreclosure specialists Trott & Trott). The firm’s founder, David A. Trott, has given at least $23,000 to McCain’s campaign and raised between $100,000 and $250,000 for the Republican nominee.

The Macomb County party’s plans to challenge voters who have defaulted on their house payments is likely to disproportionately affect African Americans who are overwhelmingly Democratic voters.

soon it will be "can't smog your vehicle? lose your vote.

Very,very bad.

Oh, this is absolutely disgusting! Thanks for finding this, DD.

The GOP operatives are sinking to a new low. Not sure which stinks worse - the debacle of falsely accusing people of being felons in Florida back in 2000 or the blatant fraud with electronic voting machines in Ohio in 2004.

I smell a Rove job here.....

Actually when I read this I see that they are checking the forclosed adresses with reported voting adresses. No name verifications just adresses. They are just making things legit is all. If you have had your home forclosed you just use your new adress to vote.

Just another phase in the governments ongoing war against the poor.

Soon it seems you will be a second class citizen and lose most of your rights just for having the misfortune of being born without a trust fund.

Poor people are the new enemy, since they cant afford to fight back they dont matter anyway. Everyone knows that anyone who cant afford to make their mortgage payment is a low life and they dont deserve protection under the constitution.

They wouldn't care about legitimacy if they thought the votes were going their way.

I voted from the age of 18 to 35. I am not an American citizen. No one ever questioned me, no one ever asked a simple question that would have alerted them to the fact that I wasn't eligible to vote.

A few months ago I recieved a letter, extolling me to vote. Explaining how very important my vote was. That even though I no longer lived in the United States ( got deported in 2004 ) my vote was needed!

They don't care about the legitimacy of your vote.

And what if you HAVE NO new address, as many of these people won't? Then you're just "out of luck? This stinks like class warfare, and capitalizing on the destruction of the middle and poor classes to me...

Oh my God!!! DD. This is just the last kick in the head. The final insult to Americans everywhere.

So I guess if I break wind on my thermal scanner on a Thursday I will be therefore disqualified as well.

Including if a herd of miniature pigs run by my door at 0800 on a Friday during a hailstorm.

Blimey.

Technically you have to register before you can vote. And in order to register you have to provide an accurate address.

If that address used to vote is no longer valid, then all they have to do is re-register under a different address (which is permitted to vote in that district).

Basically, they want the people who have been foreclosed on to re-register, and to bar them from voting if they no longer carry an address in that district.

Which is understandable. Although admittedly not the best way to go about it...

The are planning to disenfranchise farmers TOO all because they own sheep and refuse to kowtow to the USDA. One year in jail make it a class E felony www4.law.cornell.edu...
A class E felony means you lose your right to vote permenantly.

A Felony conviction also would result in the loss of our client's right to vote, right to possess firearms and having to be classified as a felon for the rest of his life! www.brabazonlawoffice.com...

Now we wouldn't want the angry masses voting now would we?? That would be representation which is (currently as of this moment) still protected by the constitution. These guys are relentless and we need to get active in this election to stop voter fraud!

It is NOT about race. It is about the ELITE megabillionaires against the rest of us. "RACE" is a "lets you and he fight" red herring so the masses attack each other instead of those in control. The blacks, browns and whites are ALL minipulated by the ELITE to hate each other and waste energy on a race war while they laugh at us. I wish the sheeple would wake-up to this manipulation.

The GOP will steal this election. Make no mistake. It's the only way they can win.

And these tactics of suppressing the votes of poor, homeless, minority and otherwise destitute people of this country is just one of the deceptive techniques they will be willing to stoop to. The people who need the help of someone like Obama in a position to help us make this country what it once was are the ones who strike fear in the highest levels of the GOP...

Interesting.

Yes, this is horrible! EVERYONE should have the right to vote, even the deceased who exercised that right in Chicago for many years, rising from their graves to vote solidly Democrat.

Seriously folks, if the system hadn't been repeatedly and unfairly abused so many times in the past, with ineligible voters casting otes left & right and even encouraged to do so or bussed in by various special interest wings of the parties, steps like this wouldn't be needed. We no longer live in a society where you show up at the polls and throw your chit into a ballot box for one of the candidate and at the end of the day the box with the most chits represents the winner of the race. PEOPLE corrupted the system and forced the system to react, not the other way around.

The site is not working for me, but the way that the quotes are phrased it seems to indicate they are tying to prevent people from voting twice (ie- using their old and new addresses). Sometimes you people get so up in arms and yet I am sitting here wondering whether even half of you read the article, or if you saw the first post and just jumped blindly on the bandwagon?

ATS is becoming too much for me. Especially with all the political mud slinging that goes on during an election.

Correct me if I am mistaken here but the way it is worded leads me to think that they just do not want false votes being made by people who steal the lists to foreclosed homes and say that it is their address therefore creating thousands of false votes in the districts and states?

I f I were to say my name is jane doe and register under an address that is not going to come up under someones elses name then I am in the clear to create voter fraud right?

I know that it is crazy, and getting more policed everyday, but looks like they had a heads up to some nefarious plot to undermine the election process, ha! Diabold etal should loose their machines!
