LHC linked to Half Life Story

en.wikipedia.org

Freeman reports to the Anomalous Materials Lab, where he is tasked with pushing a "specimen" into the scanning beam for analysis. Following that, he inadvertently causes a time-space catastrophe called a "resonance cascade,"[16] opening a portal between Earth and a bizarre world called Xen.[17] Freeman is sporadically teleported there and catches glimpses of various alien lifeforms, shortly before blacking out.[17]

Does anyone see the link between the LHC (Particle accelerator/collider) being switched on at the moment and the Half Life Story

I know there are some differences -
Half Life LHC

America Switzerland/France
Teleportation Search for Higgs Boson Particle

Creation of mini Black Holes could be a side effect at LHC. what else could be a side effect

Half Life is set somewhere between 2000 and 2009 with a Teleportation experiment with unexpected side effects.

The LHC is now operating and the first lap completed not long till they colide the particles and we find out what happens

Sorry dude,

I have only ever posted twice so not really sure where things are supposed to go or how to get them there.

Can a mod please move this thread please.

Dont compare science to video games, please, video games are far more in imagination than of reality, though some of the imagination in video games were made true by science not all an be made true, what you have mentioned is just another imaginaiton and yes there is a term called half life in physics which is the time taken for the mass of radioactive substance to be reduced to half and it is no way linked to the game.

The theory behind this is not the scientific use of the term "Half Life" we all know what that is.

There have been numerous refences to games and films that have predicted real life events before they happened.

South Ossetia - in i believe Ghost Recon.
9/11 - The Lone Gunman.

Maybe they are coinsidence, maybe they happened through suggestive reasoning. Maybe they were placed as a warning/guidance from the powers that be or something like that.

The fact that massive experiment where they are not 100% sure that they are gonna get what they expect gives me reason to be concerned.

The game Half Life is based on an experiment going wrong.

Could it be a pre-cursor for what is going to happen or just an over active imagination, who knows.

Just putting it out there for discussion.

Well, there has to be the equivalent of a Gordon Freeman, Dr Breen and the rest at CERN, with a master race willing to control the earth, but we havent drawn their attention yet.

But mark my words, this time- It wont be just a 7 hour war!

This is pure coincidence as you say.

If this was a warning about the things to happen in the future who told the game developers about it and why did they develop it as a game instead of a open thread here on ats, think.......

You will realise.

Why was The Lone Gunman produced as a film rather than being sent for discussion and the catastrophe averted???

Why do you assume it's a coincidence without thinking about the possibilities?

There is a possibility that something bad will happen at LHC, purely because they are doing this experiment to learn something new about the universe. Whose to say it will all go perfectly to plan.

Why are there threads saying the world will end within 50 days?

Things to be discussed?

... and network execs pushed the buffy episode earshot wich among other things features xander sporting the line "who hasnt had the idle thought of taking the whole place out with a semi automatic?" half a year back because they thought it wouldnt be such a good idea to air it 1 week after the columbine highschool shooting. Nobody ever mentions that example though it is at least as valid as Lonegunman or others.
So: cooincidence? yes i do think so!

The game Half Life is based on the dulce bases(the name "black mesa" comes from "Archuleta Mesa") not LHC. but if you beleve it or not it is possble that what happen in the LHC many not led to that even that happen in the game but just some of the goles of Large Hadron Collider is the find if String theory is true or not. String theory is the theory of everything, basicley trying to combine quantum mechanics and general relativity. as of 2009 we have a thoery called m-theory which calmes than there are 11 dimensions of spacetime, if true that means that other universe and muitverse can exist. to go to a other universes and muitverses you need hight energy concentration in the spacetime. I recommand doing your research and by the way in half-life(game), the teleporting Experiment is don by hight energy concentration as you see in the beging of half-life 1, it not a particle acceleration. SO WHAT HAPPEN IN THE GAME HALF-LIFE COULD BE POSSBLE.

Maybe this story is not all too far off from reality
