ET could 'tickle' stars to create galactic internet

space.newscientist.com

Advanced extraterrestrial civilisations may be sending signals through space by "tickling" stars, new research suggests. The signalling would be the galactic equivalent of the internet.

LOL

"I was online and clicked onto a link I thought was for discount star drives, but it ended up taking me to some really nasty Reptilian porn"

"what the hell is with my galactic internet use bill? The taxes are killing me! 3% for the Red Dwarf monitoring program? 4% for a quantum connection fee? 2.5% for the Intergalactic Communication Commission? and 3.2% for the Orion belt local use permit tax???"

If there is a galactic network of advanced aliens communicating with eachother then that probably implies they have communication that exceeds binary code lol...

Wow, that sounds amazing.
So how exactly would we able able to link-up our internet that we have on this planet and intergrate it with theirs? What about language translation? How the possibilities and endless questions...

The internet was a bad analogy.

The article is just saying that these advanced aliens might be using stars like one would use a lightbulb in the window of a house to get the attention of a neighbor. Possibly sending messages using a type of binary code.

An interstellar communications system based on Quantum Entanglement - Pure Genius!

Perhaps that is why the sun has stopped all sun-spot activity, perhaps Earth is getting it's own server.

The nearest star to Earth, besides the Sun is called Proxima Centari.
It's 4.2 light years away.
If Aliens were using stars to send signals to us here on Earth, then it would be a very slow means of communication.
Even if they were sending signals to us from our own Sun, it would still take about 8 mins and 20 secs.
