Hawking bets CERN mega-machine won't find 'God's Particle'

I have been a fan of Stephen Hawking. I have collected most of his books.

For his bet that we will not find the elusive particle, that is fine I guess. At least he did not mention about the dangers other scientists have raised.

Professor Hawking I hear is a bettin' man!

(Or so say Albert, Isaac, and Data!)

I think he's just trying a little friendly wager to make things a bit more interesting.

As one of the world's foremost and consumate Scientists, Professor Hawking knows, quite intimately, that you learn more from your failures than you do from your successes.

I agree with him, no higgs here (at least not in a god sense).

Back to the drawing board!

Also, $100 dollars doesn't have the aura of certainty attached to it....it's neither here nor there.
I agree with Bhadhidar, and I like how he hasn't broached the subject of mini black holes, probably (and this is entirely conjecture) because he doesn't think it worthy of even approaching!
