Probably a pretty lame question, but between galaxies, are there any celestial objects or anything that might just wonder around? Or is it a completely empty space until you get to the edge of a galaxy?

There is some stuff out there. A few stars have been found. Gas clouds. But it is pretty lonely.

Try a search: "intergalactic objects"

Yes there are few thrown out of stars from the galaxy caught in the gravity slingshot of the other and then there is the elusive dark matter.

Hey Schmidt1989,

Have you seen or heard about the Galactic Web Way?
When they did a deep space probe toward Sagittarius A (Toward the Center of our Galaxy), they found amazingly interesting objects!
The galaxies were connected by huge filaments of plasma stretching millions of light years in length and carrying billions of amps of current.
Do a Google search for "Galactic Filaments" and be amazed at the beauty of the universe.
