I was recently reminded of THIS website.
It's a very interesting and touching insight into the lives and personalities of people whom were housed at the Willard State Hospital. It gives details about their mental illnesses, the story of how they came to be there as well as other personal artifacts and belongings.

I just found it interesting, and thought I would share.

Kinda weirdly morbid, but intriguing i guess.
What is it about the site/subject that you find interesting?

Chewlip... thanks for this. I found the website very interesting and tragic. It makes you realize how fragile our lives are and how quickly our individual fortunes can turn.

Thanks so much for that link, Ive just been listening to some of the memories from staff.

ive worked in and around mental health units for years although all the asylums are long gone.

so many lives wasted just because they didnt conform. Even now in 2008 i wonder who has the right to diagnose insanity?
