Al-Qaeda Chief Al-Zawahiri Viciously Slams Iran

Neo-Cons are going to have a harder time equating the Iranian threat with 9/11 as the anniversary of the attack on America nears if the latest Al-Qaeda propaganda tape is to be believed. In a new broadcast, Al-Qaeda number two Ayman al-Zawahiri viciously attacks Tehran as “collaborators” with the United States in Afghanistan and Iraq.

“The leadership in Tehran is collaborating with the Americans in their occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan,” Zawahiri said in the extract broadcast by Al-Jazeera today, reports AFP.

“It recognises the subservient (to Washington) governments of these two countries, while at the same time pledging death and destruction to any state which dares touch Iranian soil,” added the Egyptian deputy to Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Ironies abound as AQ tosses Iran and Washington in the same basket, accusing Iran of collaborating with and facilitating the US presence in Iraq and Afghanistan, days before the 7th anniversary of 9/11.

Zawahiri apparently has been reading his Hegel.

But, but, I thought Zawahiri was an American CIA asset and AMERICA caused 9/11.... if the neo-cons really run the show, wouldnt they have a video of Zawahiri PRAISING Iran, therefore giving America reason to attack Iran. Once again, the 9.11 truth movement gets debunked. FUNNY this # is on prison planet too.

It probably goes to the division between Shia and Sunni Muslims. Al Quesa and Iran are not friends. An sunni Al Quesa member probably thinks killing Shia in Iraq or Iran is like killing a Western infidel.

Well... not to be too cynical... but Zawahiri called-off his Mehdi Army right around the time that $300M in hard cash went 'missing' in Iraq. He went underground. The violence decreased. Feels like a big, dangerous chess game to me.

This is proof that Al Queda lost in Iraq. They are just pissed that Iran's surrogates put down their guns and are joining the political process like a true democracy should. More signs of American victory, Hurra!

Iran and the Taleban loathed one another, it's no surprise that the feeling is the same with Al-Qaeda.

Here's a little story from 1998 illustrating their mutual hatered:

Taleban kill Iranian diplomats
